Nice win for us today. I can't remember the last time I was so cold at a football game be it as a player or spectator. First let me say that Parsons Field is a nice place to watch a game. It's a bit strange since it sits in the middle of a neighborhood. When you've got your binos and you can see a guy sitting at his dining room table watching the game then you know you're not at your everyday sports venue. I also have to say that of all the FCS stadiums I've ever been to that Parsons has the best concessions stand. Great cheeseburgers and Italian Sausage grinders.

Now for the important stuff. Great game by Jimmy Hughes; 93 yards rushing and one TD. Cassidy played well and passed for 157 yards and no INTs. Our O-line did a good job protecting Cassidy and opening holes for our running game. It was also nice to see Anthony Ferrer get some carries; love his hard nose running style.

On defense our secondary did a great job breaking up passes. Good job by Glenn in particular. Hansen and Ball had big games today for our LB corps.

I'd like to congratulate Rizzi and staff on their first CAA win; glad I was there to see it.

In closing I want to send a big THANK YOU to our seniors for their dedication and hard work. They had to play for two very different coaching regimes and they persevered. In particular I'd like to congratulate Derek Cassidy who really had to change his game up for Rizzi. At the beginning of the season there was talk of him losing his job. He not only kept his job but proved that he can be a passer. This guy took a beating with the Stowers type offense but he hung in there. xthumbsupx to you Derek.

Jimmy Hughes, who was mostly a third down specialist had to be an every down back this season when Casey went down in game one. He made the transition well and had a great last game.

Jeff Ball, one of our best tacklers and one of the best LB's we've ever had at URI. The guy has a good nose for the ball.

It's a shame that these guys never got to play on a winning team but I appreciate their contributions to URI football.

I think next season we should be in good shape. Rizzi and staff now have the first year together under their belts and the stench of Stowers will now start to wear off. Once Rizzi gets all of his own players in place I think things will start to jell.

Once again THANK YOU URI seniors. xthumbsupx
