This is truly a year to forget. UD finally finds a QB who looks like he can play and in the same game.. they loses three of their starting defensive linemen.. including their best in #11 (Macorelle) pictured above. That makes 11 defensive players lost for the season. Defensive depth was the only thing keeping the Hens somewhat respectable.. but this latest wave of injuries may have been the final blow to a woeful season. Richmond and Villanova left and things just seem to keep getting worse... :(

These guys were all on the 2-Deep as well. It's not like they were riding the pine and got a splinter!

The 11 lost include:
4 DLs
3 LBs
4 DBs

That's an entire defensive team!

I feel your pain with injuries. We've lost Qb's, RB's, WR's, OL...it's like someone new every week. All of them were either starters or second on the depth chart. This season has been one to forget for the both of us. Hopefully they are all injuries that they can come back from.

Have faith. Delaware will beat Nova. Thus it is written, thus is will occur.

Condolences on the injuries. I hope none of them are career ending and that all of them recover. xsmhx

Nice picture of the coach, though... reminds me of the old ABC Sports intro... the agony of defeat...

A win over 'Nova would make the season a lot more palatable.

It's going to be tough, 'Nova is pretty strong, UD has no offense, and UD's defense is banged up.

Did they fire the strength and conditioning coach or something. That many injuries usually indicates inadequacies in the strength and conditioning department.

The 'Nova game is the only one I'll be attending this season!

And to the post from CSUBUCDAD, it does seem UD loses quite a few players to season ending injuries, season after season after season.

Although your point is well taken, injuries like torn ACL's, concussions, ankle sprains, dislocated elbows, etc, are not indicative nor are prevented by poor or good strength and conditioning. Injuries do happen, and happen to the best trained athletes.

Every time I start to bemoan the fact that UNH has lost a player vital to their success,I'm going to remember Chicken Man's post that started this thread and realize how bad it could really get.Unbelievable.Sometimes I think the human body just wasn't meant to take the rigors of playing football. xsmhx

Ugh... I feel your pain on injuries brother. Just found out about the Bobcat injury report after the NAU game. We lost our 2nd string QB Mark Iddins (he was playing because we lost the starting QB Cody Kempt the week prior, both out for the season), our star true freshman wide receiver DSean Thomas, and our star all american defensive end Dane Fletcher. These latest four add to an already lengthy list of players we've lost for the season. At last count there were 6 starters already out for the season so this makes 10 starters we've lost, and a couple non-starter contributors.
