Nice trick play by Samford. Have 2 QBs in, one at tailback. Toss to him, pass back to the QB, then pass to the TE. Love it.

In the last four minutes, Furman forced a fumble at their own 1, then forced a fumble at Samford's 1 (recovered for TD), and intercepted a pass inside the red zone.

Offense hasn't really brought it today, but the defense came to play. And I prefer defensive Furman football.

Also, Samford's defense is as big and physical as advertised. These guys are going to become contenders quickly.

It's nice to not be on the wrong end of a game where a missed/blocked XP or botched 2 point conversion was the deciding factorxnodx .

Neither team played particularly well, but Samford's mistakes were absolutely crippling. A fumble at the one as they were going in for a TD, and then another fumble on their own one that resulted in a TD for Furman.

A little karma reversal for FU this week as we were on the good side of redzone turnovers (I think Samford had two or three...like us last week) and a missed XP.

xnodx They scared us for a while too. Very impressive 1st season in the SoCon, but a heartbreaker today. They are going to be solid.

Amen! They have made a fine showing this year, even in games they ended up losing. I've been impressed watching them.

Definately not a week off playing those guys.
