Do you think that TXST will be able to match the 52 points the number one scoring offense in the FCS put on the top ranked SLC defense?

I think that this will be a high scoring game and one I wish I could watch. Good luck to both teams.

We shall soon see, but I believe the 40's might be more likely.

I would love to see TXST/Poly in the playoffs again, that would be a shootout.

Barely, I havn't been following it closely, but from what I've read it seems like we're lucky to be a touchdown ahead right now. I don't really care what happens the rest of the season, as long as we get a new coach.

It was our SID Doug Ireland...don't know if he was arrested or not though, our radio guys were saying that he was being escorted away from the sideline. Not sure what happened...I know in the past visiting teams/fans have had issues with TxSt. students so who knows.

From what I could tell it was a great game for both teams...not a lot of turnovers...not a lot of penalties.

Our team really has come a long way...especially our young secondary...and we have had a few injuries to our OL. Byron Lawrence started the year off slow but he caught fire behind our OL today. :)

It was Doug, he was not arrested but they were trying to run him off. I had a media pass, came down from the stands to go to the field AFTER the game had ended, and they tried to run me off too. I think the officers were told that anybody in purple wasn't allowed on the field I guess, media pass or not.

The Demon defense did an outstanding job on George and company today. They are really starting to come together. Texas St. passing game was limited to ~200 yards, and many 3 and outs.

We have several injured players now back in the lineup after very early season injuries. This team is really starting to play well.

Demon defense really controlled the tempo, followed by a steady stream of Byron Lawrence and the offensive line the whole game. In the end, our offensive line wore out the Texas St. defensive line. The statistics were significantly in our favor:

NORTHWESTERN ST TEXAS STATE
First downs 23 16
Rushed-yards 53-251 28-149
Passing yards 171 201
Sacked-yards lost 1-5 0-0
Return yards 71 21
Passes 12-23-2 17-36-1
Punts 5-35.4 7-47.6
Fumbles-lost 1-0 0-0
Penalties-yards 6-35 5-55

Here's a nice pic of the Northwestern State RB fumbling the ball while crossing the line...correct me if I'm wrong, but if he doesn't have control of the ball (as the picture shows) and he crosses the goalline and the ball is out before his knee touches the ground, it's a fumble correct?

Well, that's what happened. So, the true score of the game was 31-28 TxSt.

In the record books goes 34-31 Nwst.

Off the field, it's proven via every rating system when comparing the two schools, even more so when you compare the SLC as a whole to the SWAC...xthumbsupx

I've already responded regarding Northwestern State...but you would not understand the parity issue in which some of the worst teams in the SLC can go right up to the top...especially based on the lack their of in the SWAC. xwhistlex

I'd have to see video of it because that photo doesn't mean much. Yes, the ball is coming out in the photo but the player is well across the line. Question is, did he have control of the ball the very moment the ball crossed the plane of the goal line? It doesn't matter whether he is down or not or whether the ball comes out two yards into the endzone.

1) Assuming that is the goal line, the player is well across the goal line in that picture
2) The play was from the 2 yard line, where are all of the offensive/defensive lineman? The play was run right in between the left guard/tackle? Hmmm...
3) There is no evidence of what yard line the player is at or the location on the field
4) There is no evidence of when the picture was taken during the game
5) The referees were right on the play from both sides and the back
6) Get over it, you lost and you should have lost during regulation

Mike, remember that every year Sam Houston is supposed to win the National Championship according to its fans, while any Louisiana school with the possible exception of McNeese should be a cakewalk. That lone semifinal berth a few years ago by the Bearkats has sure gotten a lot of mileage. That's the question. Show me a picture where he has full control of the ball when crossing the plane. The picture I linked to shows the ball already coming out, so he probably started to lose control of the ball before he crossed. I'm over it, as I already stated that you guys had won the game and I congratulated you, so you didn't have to respond. The TD was a delayed call also, so obviously the ref saw something fishy too. A poster on bobcatfans saw some good video today and said he slowed it down and it looked like your RB started to lose control before he crossed the plane, but he said just barely.

Also, it is plane, not plain, so in your other post, I wouldn't be poking fun at other people's English if you make mistakes like that yourself. xthumbsupx

We were saying playoffs or bust...which we should with the talent we had (particularly Bomar and some talented JUCO recruits). Should we have believed anything else? Do not believe anyone was declaring a national championship, considering our head coach has what -- one win over a team with a winning record -- since he's been here?

We'll get a new FBS QB next year...and hopefully bring in more pieces around him to do something, perhaps keep our stud RB academically eligible...
