I went to a D-III game today so I only got to listen to bit and pieces of our game today. After listening in a bit and after reading the box score here are my thoughts:
1. URI played better and kept it closer than most expected.
2. I wish we had something of a running game. When Casey went down in the first game that killed us on the ground. Hughes is a good back but he's really more of a third down specialist than an every down back.
3. Cassidy is throwing well and our WR's (who haven't had much experience with the passing game) are finally catching the ball.
4. On defense, we need to show up. We need more than just Hansen and Ball making all the tackles. I really think Rizzi needs to recruit some DB's in the off season. In fact I think this should be priority # 1.
All in all I think we performed quite well against a top 25 team.
