Freshman Vinny Nicosia gets the start at FS, David Morgan backing him up with Mike Barry still injured. Also, Lamont Sonds gets the start at Rush DE, replacing Juliues Barlay

Some good news and some bad news

The bad first:
Jordan Scott spent most of the 2nd quarter on the sidelines with ice on his ankle

The good news:
They don't really seem to need him. Colgate is clicking in all aspects of the game right now. The defense is playing well, getting lots of pressure on the QB Ford and generally not letting Cornell get too much going. 2 turnovers so far, just looking very solid on that side of the ball. Just the one big kick return, the only good thing for the Red offense. Offensively, Sullivan is looking good, huge passes to Simonds and Charles Babb. Nate Eachus is filling in for Scott and doing so more than admirably

Solid all-around performance by the 'Gate today :)

The defense was strong, giving up on TD on a very short field, and one when it was practically too late to matter. 3 turnovers forced, and none given up

The Sullivan to Simonds was working early in a big way, then it was the Nate Eachus Show. Great true debut for the Freshman (I know he's had other carries, but this is the breakout game), Colgate pounded Cornell all game long

Hopefully Scott is able to come back for the rest of the season, but we just might be in good hands this year (and likely into the future) with Eachus xnodx

Nice debut by Eachus... but I sure hope Scott can finish the season and get some more yards. Icing an ankle sounds like a sprain to me. Let's hope so.

Being at the game....that was my guess too. He was walking around on it (he was carrying crutches, but not using them...), so I was guessing a sprain. Though I guess we won't know for sure until some official statement comes out (or more likely, the release comes out for next Saturday's game).

Good to hear from you, Colgate13! Hope all is well.

Nice to have a running back on the bench like Eachus. Sounds like the defense played well, too.

From what I read on the box score on TSN, Eachus had a great 'coming out' party. Obvious why Lehigh and Lafayette were after him as well. That was a solid win over a good team. PL acquitted themselves well today.

I think Colgate fans are feeling pretty good about the future with Sullivan and Eachus around for several more years...

But let's make sure Jordan goes out with style... along with the rest of the seniors!

In the Syracuse Post-Standard's write up of the game, it states that Jordan Scott has a high ankle sprain, and his status is uncertain. So, at least we now know what it is...
