Just like with the Payton thread, who would you choose for the Buchanan at the half-way point?

Likewise. I'm pretty sure he's the only player that was on the watch last year as well.

I have seen the UC Davis guy (once) and he played well.

I have seen Larry Hart play all his games this year.

Nobody can block him. Tulsa doubled him all night and he was still in their backfield. He gets held on virtually every play and plays hard every play.

It just goes to show that nobody has truly takent over the race for the Buchanan Award. I do think that people on here are overlooking Peach and Hart is another one that I think should get more attention on here.

It really just goes to show that with or without stats, the average fan has a hard time making a decision about defensive players.

I didn't vote yet, but will after this wkend to allow more time to look all these guys up. As for the "others," one might be a guy I'll get to see first hand this wkend.

Adrian Tracy-William&Mary
Jr, DE
note: #1 in the nation in tackles for loss. UNH fans might be able to give more info as they saw him last wkend and as per their coach, single handly disrupted their O.

I love how Greg Miller is sneaking up on people this year, no preseason accolades, yet he has been absolutely dominant this year, both against the run and as a pass rusher.

1. That there are other guys who are not on this list who might be the top.*
2. It's still too early to pick.

The mid-season Buchanan Award should go to Junior LB Phil Higgins at Northeastern University. He leads the CAA in tackles and two games were against FBS teams, Ball state and Syracuse. 1AA team Georgia southern and CAA teams Towson and UMass. This weekend UNH.

#1 in the CAA
#30 in the nation

This was accomplished playing Tough teams.

Bobby Daly is a homer pick.

He is a solid player but cat fans act like this guy is Butkus. He blends in too much and most of the time you wonder if he's even playing that day. He is not dominating and I have never seen him take over a game.

He's good but not good enough to be mentioned on this list.
