When it comes to playoffs this is how it stand:

Looking great:
App
Wofford
Elon

Still has breathing room:
Furman

Can't lose:
Georgia Southern
The Citadel

Eliminated:
Western Carolina
Chattanooga
Samford (still very dangerous)

Personally, I think the one's that can't lose are in a big pickle. They could be eliminated after next week. Furman is still alive but a loss to The Citadel will hurt them. App is still king for now. Elon needs to play more consistent. Wofford needs a big win against a team with a winning record.
Any other thoughts and ideas?

It's a three-team race right now between App, Elon and Wofford (sorry Furman, but it doesn't look good, plus you go to App in two weeks). Elon's got the edge already being halfway through the conference schedule and already won games at GaSo and El Cit.

Wofford has to go to App and Elon (in back-to-back weeks) so that could be do or die for Wofford.

App's already in their do or die stretch. Samford today, @ Georgia Southern next week, then home games against Furman and then Wofford.

App has the advantage of having Wofford and Elon at home. So App could have to play two games in which the opponent is undefeated in conference.

Right now, App and Wofford have much harder roads. After next week, Wofford has the hardest road.

After 11/1, the dust will be mostly settled. If Wofford comes out with the edge, they still have @ Samford and home vs Furman (rivalry game). If either App and Elon (or even either as long as the other only has one loss) comes out unscathed, 11/15 will be the battle for the SoCon title.

Again, sorry Furman fans, but Furman doesn't look good right now. Everyone else already has at least two conference losses and I don't think we'll have a repeat of last year (two losses getting you a share of the SoCon title), plus the road is too rocky not to falter again.

I pretty much agree that any of those teams except for the lattermost 3 can win the conference, but the most likely winners are Wofford, Elon, and App.

IMO, the GSU-ASU game this week will be arguably one of the most important SoCon games this year. With App getting to play Elon, Wofford, and Furman at home GSU may have the best chance of any team to give them a conference loss (do not underestimate the power of the rock). Barring a major upset, Elon will lose at most 2 more conference games (Elon's remaining SoCon games are App., Wofford, Western Carolina, and UTC). A loss to GSU would mean that App. will have to beat Furman, Elon, and Wofford to win the conference outright.

You Wofford and Elon people need to be rooting for GSU this weekend.

So yeah, that's pretty much my prognostication at this point...
GSU beats App. State: Elon gets the AQ
App beats GSU: App gets the AQ and wins the SoCon outright

Yeah, we don't do good in Paulson. Sure we won in 06, but that was in 2 OT's to the infamous 3-8 team in the BVG year. Last time before that was in 96 when GaSo was 4-7.

The Apps do not play well in Georgia and from the looks of things today. We don't play well in Alabame either.
