Well, if you go by average ranking per conference, the Big South's average ranking is 15....and the SoCon would be about 11... we're catching up! :)

This feels kind of like free climbing for the first time: You have confidence you can do it but d@mn it's scary the closer you get to the top. I do have a lot of confidence in our team though, so, I'll agree.

OK, yes they lost, but Did they, or did they not, just take the #3 team to triple OT?

Maybe its being a complete homer but I can't see how the #23 team loses to the #4 team in 3OT and then drops? Its one thing that has always completely annoyed me about the FBS level polls.

That's one of the reasons I think the better power rating systems are better than human polls. In a power rating system that looks at margin of victory, all other things being equal, you gain ground if you come closer to beating a higher rated team than expected...even if you lose. Of course all other things are never equal because the system is looking at all of the other games too and adjusting.

But, the point is, you don't get screwed for losing to a team that was higher rated than you to start with.
