Personally I would have voted JMU #1, but I don't have a say in the rankings.

That being said, we all know Villanova is a very tough place to go play. I'm very concered as Nova has been able to run the ball which really worries me.

The kicker went stupid and kicked it right to Sczsur (sp?).

What a game!! I didn't sit down for last quarter plus. The defense was pretty damn dominant until they went into the prevent on the last UR drive. They should have kept doing what they had done all day long.

Whitney did a hell of a job. He was efficient and that conversion of the 3rd and 29 was some great running. And Ball should buy him dinner with the way he was blocking on the backside on all of the runs. I like the fact that he isn't afraid to lower his shoulder and take on tacklers when he takes off and take on would be tacklers when he hands off.

But, I was terrified when he went to kneel down under center at the end of the game. All I could think of was UMass a few years ago when Casamento got hurt and Marvin came in, fumbled the snap on a kneel down, and tried to pick it up instead of falling on it. One kneel down was all we needed and UMass scored and won the game. There were some iffy exchanges between him and the center earlier in the game leading to my terror.

Unfortunately, Villanova is a basketball school. I'm just glad to see any students at the games. Combine that with the crappy weather and the forecast for lightning and the attendance is even worse. It's sad. If you visit our message board, most of the fans could give two craps about the football team and won't go watch a game unless we move up. Or just want to see us drop football again because of the money the football team loses. But, there are some real fans and we are extremely passionate about it. I've missed one home game in the last 10 years I think. Been to Delaware almost every time we've been down there in that span. It's just that unless we play against FBS competition, they're too blind to see that we play a great brand of football and personally, I hope we never move up. Better get off my soapbox now before this turns into a Buckeye type post (Hoyadestroya will get the reference).

Just another day in the CAA, a battle, rankings mean nothing. Nova finally put it all together and dominated in every facet of the game. Nova out-hit, out-ran, out-coached, and overall out-played a very good Richmond team. Nova made Richmond look very average, and they are not average. Richmond has a lot of speed and Ward is a very good QB. He had a few spots where he could have picked up a lot more yards, but went down. I'm hoping there is no let-down next week against W&M. With a solid D and an efficient O, Nova should be in every game this year and with a few breaks make a run at a playoff spot.

With Whitney at the helm, I think Nova will be in the game against W&M. It will likely come down to turnovers. You are right, Nova always struggles at W&M. They hate the drive, the long trip, the goofy Williamsburg historical figures down there. And W&M has likely been marking this game after last year's 63-24 Villanova rout. Looking like another tough game.

Whitney is the starter unless he turns in some really bad performances. He's not a gunslinger like Young. He manages the game well and doesn't take wild chances. I think he is just what Nova needs this year and will be the starter the rest of the way.

JMU looks unbeatable right now. Only way they get beat is if Landers falters or gets hurt. I think they are the real deal.

I'm actually looking forward to the UD-VU game this year, unlike last year! But that is way down the road.

I'm not sure we are run dominant this year. The pattern seems to be we try to run. Then as the game goes on need to pass. Then the midrange passing success sets up the run for some decent run stats. We seem to be having very little rushing success early in the game this year.

I agree with the Oline problems, which is surprising with as large and experienced as they are. It almost seems like the blocking schemes need to change. I wonder if there is some connection missing because of the new offensive coaching changes?

I think this was the one game we UR fans feared when the schedule came out. I guess we were right. Not a bad loss, but disappointing that we couldn't stop the run.

My bubble had the air let out of it big time.:( I thought U of R would run the table and be in the final two. They still could be in the final 2, but maybe they are not as good as I had thought.
