"In addition, the Dukes remember that 2006 game at Kidd Brewer Stadium - a battle of the previous two national champions - when the Mountaineers dominated them for a 21-10 victory."

Yeah, winning by 11 despite being outgained by over 100 yards is a win, but certainly not a dominating win.

"Some observers feel like Matthews almost tries too hard to beat Appalachian State, and that it leads to critical mistakes, like going for a first down on 4th-and-2 from its own 32 with 2:35 remaining instead of punting in last year's game."

Coulson, can you write one article without a mistake in it? It WAS 4TH AND ONE, NOT 4th AND 2.

Jmu 4-1 at Jmu 32 Landers rush for no gain to the JMU32 (A.Williams).

I like Landers comments about how he thinks JMU is the best team in the country. Now he just has to back it up.

Could JMU be setting themselves up for a let down??? Placing so much focus on this game could make them too amped, when what they need to be is relaxed to play well. The Apps have had a target on their backs for the last few years so this won't be anything new to them. JMU could be pressing a little too hard for this one. IMO

People said this BEFORE the season even started. Listen, our players are motivated for this game, but almost every JMU player interviewed before and after the UMass game said that the Umass game was far more important since it was a CAA game.

Is there a chance that JMU is over hyped and makes some mistakes? Absolutely.....but its not as if JMU will quit on the season if they lose this game.

I think JMU will come out with the same game plan as last year. Grind it out on the ground and pass when needed. I believe Apps d-line is very much improved this year and shouldn't get pushed around like they did last year. If the d-line performs, then our LB's will be free to do what they do best. MAKE PLAYS!!!!

Apps offense will put up points.
That's a given like taxes and death....
