View Full Version : Northwestern St.-Grambling moved to Sunday

Due to severe winds and rain projected for tomorrow the in-state matchup has been moved to Sunday at 2:00 p.m.

I guess changing the time for accomodate the Grambling band is a moot point now xbawlingx

wow... i dont think anyone in LA or eastern texas is playing their game as scheduled

Here's the NSU release. They say further information will be posted soon. Wonder if the Grambling band will be able to make it still and also, will this game still be covered on SLC TV?

from that press release it sounds to me like they arent to sure it will happen tomorrow...

UCA's game, scheduled for 6 pm on Saturday in Little Rock, AR, is still still supposed to kickoff at 6. Uapb officials deemd that even if they would have moved the game up to 1 or 2, the heavy rains and wind would not have made a difference....

Perkins said he conferred with school officials, including UAPB Chancellor Lawrence A. Davis, but it was decided that an earlier start time ultimately would change little if heavy rains struck.

“It’s not going to make a difference, so we’re just going to leave it alone,” Perkins said.

Tons more information than the previous release of information...


There will be no live television coverage of the game. The contest was to have been the inaugural telecast for the SLCTV network established by the Southland Conference, but logistical issues with the broadcast crew were among the considerations preventing the telecast on Sunday.

3,000 general admission tickets available...wonder how many of those will be snatched up today. The game won't have the same atmosphere as it would've on a Saturday night under the lights, but that was taken away by the Grambling band. Then, the atmosphere was going to be different, but still strong -- then take away by Ike. Nothing is working in the favor of either team!
