This is a big loss to the Hens' 'D'.. Bratton was one of their top defenders.. the consolation is that Delaware is pretty deep at the DB positions and that Bratton will get the year back as he played as a true Fr and has never red-shirted.
NEWARK -- The University of Delaware football team has suffered the first major injury of the 2008 season heading into its second game. A torn knee ligament will sideline safety Anthony Bratton for the rest of the year, coach K.C. Keeler said Thursday.
Bratton, a junior who started all 14 games in which he played in 2007 as well as the 2008 opener at Maryland, never red-shirted and will get the year back, making him a junior again when he returns next season. He played in five games as a freshman in 2006.
