Front page of ESPN right now regarding Ark St's blowout win over TSU and the discount that came from it. SHSU used to do something similar. Remember cashing in on a huge 50-60% discount back during our 2001 run...

Any publicity is good publicity, eh?

JONESBORO, Ark. -- At least one Arkansas State fan would prefer to see his favorite team win a close game this weekend.

Hoppy Hoffman, who owns a store that sells Arkansas State apparel, came up with a new promotion this season: 1 percent off after each home football game for every point the Red Wolves win by.

Then Arkansas State won its home opener 83-10 on Saturday.

A couple of years back a local pizza joint put up $1 toward your purchase of a pizza for every touchdown UCA scored ....only problem was that UCA scored 8 touchdowns that game and the pizzas were $6! When you went on the day specified to collect your pizza and $2, they said the offer was moved back to the day before and only for 1 hour...which noone took advantage of (surprise, surprise)....needless to say that pizza company is doing very very poorly these days....and NOT advertising at football games anymore. xlolx

When the heck did Arkansas State change from the Indians to the Red Wolves?

Pizza Hut used to have a promotion where fans got 1% off the price of their order for every point that UNC scored at its home games. The first week of the promotion, the Bears beat NM Highlands, 72-13! Needless to say, we ordered pizza that night!

Our bookstore does 5% off any merchandise on the Tuesday after a win for however many TDs we score up to 25%.

Adopted change last spring, but started using this school year. Were Indians last year.

Another victim of NCAA "political correctness" police.

How have the Chippawas (Central MI) avoided this battle?

It's a smart promotion, especially if you have a historically awful football program -- see Arkansas State in FBS. The Red Wolves are turning it around. Not sure if they can keep it up, but they have a telling game against Southern Miss.

Would've liked to see ASU make it an even 75% though against TSU! If you are going to try not to score and run it between the tackles, you may as well do your student body a favor and max it out.

For Bison home games, Domino's Pizza has a promotion where you get $1 off pizza on Monday for every TD the Bison score. People got $7 off their pizzas at all Fargo-Moorhead Domino's yesterday.

I assume they got the permission of the tribe like Florida State did.
