Nothing like being named a National All-Star in the first collegiate game of your senior year. Congratulations Andrew, thanks for the dedication to four years of Griz football, and hear's to an awesome year!

I thought Schmidt was the reason the Griz won that game - not only on offense, but on special teams.

Definitely agree! Between his 126 yards in the second half, to his blocked punt that led to a Griz TD, Schmidt was an integral part of the win over Cal Poly.

Griz fans have to breathing a sigh of relief that Andrew Schmidt has what it takes to replace Lex. i guess the line doesn't hurt either. But Great work to Tenn St and others. :) :)

No Larry Warner?????
SIU's Warner had 151 yards rushing with a TD, 39 yards receiving 20 yards on punt returns and 133 yards on kickoff returns (including a 95 yard return for a TD) in their win over Hampton for a total of 353 yards in offense. At least he was recognized as the MVFC Offensive Player of the Week.

Wow I dont agree with those picks on offense. Coen by far had the better week then both. 395 passing yards 3 passing tds 1 rushing td over a better team also.

Coen is an enigma... great yet not. So many weeks he is on the edge... I like him but he needs to get over that edge IMO.

Are you smoking some crack too... what the hell are you talking about? You didnt give him player of the week because in week one he passed for 92 yards you are saying? Maybe there is a reason for that and maybe if you did your job then you would realize that Ralph. Wow that statement said alot. UMass was down 14 points and came back to win not down 11 like your first dude. Did you even watch or read about the game? Come on do a better job then that.

Right, Coen is completely over-rated. He is a terrible QB. How he's kept his job for 4 years I have no idea. You could do a better job running the UMass offense. Ok, the last part was obviously a joke, you don't know anything about football, nevermind trying to play.

If you think I "don't know anything about football" then move along. xrolleyesx

That is not even close to the truth.

And your reading skills are pretty pathetic (not as bad as your speaking though). I never claimed you said "Coen is completely over-rated. He is a terrible QB." Don't say I did. Actually I wouldn't be surprised if you don't even know what an enigma is...

Coen:
25 for 36, 395 yards passing, -9 yards rushing, 386 total yards, 3 TDs passing, 1 TD rushing, 0 INTs, 2 fumbles, 1 lost

Heffner:
23 for 29, 315 yards passing, 68 yards rushing, 3 TDs passing, 373 total yards, 0 INTs, 0 fumbles

It was pretty close... Coen came up big at the end of the game... but IMO he didn't have as solid a performance as Heffner. Had Heffner not been the QB Tennessee State probably would have lost that game.

That's all fine and dandy, but his 69% completion percentage doesn't hold a candle to Heffner's 79% on this particular week.

In fact, Heffner's efficiency rating for this game was the highest in an FCS game to this point (minimum of 20 completions and against D-I competition). Although Coen's performance vs. Holy Cross is the sixth-best by this measure, Heffner's was better.

The one he lost was on a snap... you could credit it to him or the center. It is only the second game our center has ever played at that poss. Im also sure Ralph didnt even know he had a fumble anyways so your point doesnt back him up

Ralph we both know you dont have a clue so lets not start there and another note for Coen... He leads ALL FCS QBs with TD passes. He has something like 72 or 73 for his career. I think you are the only one who thinks that about him. Last year he played all season with a knee injury wearing a huge brace. Just an fyi... its the same thing many players have sat out the season with. When he drops another 300 yards passing on JMU this week will you have the same thought?

I actually don't care if Coen was the CSN offensive player of the week. I wasn't arguing a case for him being it. My problem is with Syntax and his stupid comments that are not based on facts. xthumbsupx
