Before the article was posted, the following post on egriz made me chuckle:

"We all know Coulson is just going to write about how App. State had the best bye week in FCS history this week and ignore the Griz win."

Yes, I know ASU didn't have a bye week.

I give props to the people who run the Griz website for posting the game highlights so quickly. To me, from just watching the highlights it looked like two evenly matched teams making alot of big plays trying to win the game. Great job by both teams.xthumbsupx

I thought Dave did a pretty good job with this one. Only thing he missed was SUU breaking their losing streak.

The game was very even. UM took control of the game in the second half, by going the run--often with two tight ends and occasionally two running backs. UM's defense also held Barden to two catches in the second half. However, just when it looked like UM had the game in control, CP's offense became unstoppable. Obviously, either team could have won. CP is a very good team.

Over the season, UM will improve, because UM has so many newer/younger players, especially on defense. Not a single UM cornerback had had ever played a single down in I-A football (2 true frosh and 2 JC transfers). A true frosh covered Barden.

Bergquist, the qb, ran the team well and made some big plays running the ball. However, he didn't have his best game, and he will play much better for most of the rest of the season. Our o-line showed that it is very very good, and one of the best in the nation. I think the o-line has the potential to be the best in the nation, but I guess we'll see on that.

CP is a good school and in a nice location. Lots of fun. Great wine tasting. Nice people.

Coulson did a nice job on the article.

And I give props to them too. They must be up late.
