Has been picked up by the Browns and placed on the practice squad. He should have a better shot there. Than he did in Tennessee!!

aw man. i swore up and down that he was going to make the cut in tennessee... (maybe even make a run for the starting job). Oh well, same thing happened to Shaheer McBride. Two great talents that will hopefully shine in time.

you have to wonder if he took advantage of the fact that teams didn't stack the box against him because of the great quarterbacks

Riccio, Flacco's predecessor, was hardly a great QB. Omar was equally as effective before Joe came along. xpeacex

That's odd, most people were saying all last year that Flacco was overrated because people had to stack the box just to try to stop Cuff.

Anyway, that argument doesn't fly because of the prior mentioned success when Riccio was the QB. And in that '05 season where Cuff shined, not only did he have Riccio with him, but the top 4 WR's from that team were lost to injury early in the year - there was no passing game.

Just because Cuff may or may not make it in the NFL is no reflection on the quality of RB that he was in college. That's like saying Santos was really a bum because he won't be an NFL QB or that David Ball was an overrated WR for the same reason.

Villanova has several of those players.. John Dieser, JJ Outlaw, Chris Boden and Brett Gordon (who wouldn't have gone to Villanova if he was 4 inches taller)
I think Joe proved last week that he's not overrated especially his running ability..
Omar IMHO should have won the Payton award last year and you guys would have beaten us last year for sure if Omar was 100 percent..

Nah, Foster was a legit Payton Award winner - the guy was a freak and had a great year. No one was beating him last year. And UD wasn't beating nova last year, healthy Omar or not - they mailed that game in after spending all week getting ready for DSU and the playoffs they had already sewn up. Odd to do that with a rivalry game in front of them, but it's hard to be disappointed with the playoff run that ensued.

As for the Payton, though, that award got a real question mark on it last year when Flacco was compeltely omitted from the final ballot. Again, Foster was clearly the deserved winner, but the award takes a hit when a QB with a fantastic season who then goes on to be a first round draft pick can't even make the ballot.

i wonder if the writers were punishing him for being a transfer in some twisted way
