Final score of Bucknell 48, Duquesne 42, although it really wasn't as close as the final score seems. BU led 42-7 at the half and 48-14 after three quarters. The Bison, with its new OC, showed a much more balanced offense and much more imaginative play-calling (at least for 2 1/2 quarters). QB Marcelo Trigg ended up completing 14-16 for 290 yards and 2 TD's and also rushing for 2 TD's. In total, BU rushed for 247 yards, giving them an unBisonlike 537 yards of total offense despite wet conditions.
Bucknell went into a shell in the last quarter and coughed up a couple of fumbles as well, as DU got 4 fourth quarter TD's - the last with 14 seconds left. DU's QB, Dixon, who transferred in from Michigan State, threw for 429 yards and 6 TD's. He should put up big numbers all year. Dixon fwiw was Rivals' #17 QB in the country coming out of H.S.
