Bad snap on FG by UCA. Aggies move up field. Still 0-0 in second quarter. Totally unexpected.

I thought it would come down to the running game...

UCA's Ceasar has 4 carries for 41 yards with one for a 31 yard pick-up. I am surprised at the lack of scoring.

Aggies miss Fg. Still 0-0. Two defenses, no offenses.

UCA is moving...inside the UC-Davis red zone. Could we have our first score in the SECOND QUARTER?!?!

A five yard score to Brent Grimes with 6:29 left in the opening half...

Brown is 10 of 15 for 81 yards and the TD.

No offense for UC-Davis, another drive goes nowhere...

UCA has a 146-40 offensive yardage advantage...

What's the deal Aggies?

7-0 Bears at halftime. Aggies - good defense, no offense. I would put in Alfaro at QB for second half, Denham just not effective with one week of practice. UCA doing better on offense but not great. UCA defense handling Aggie running game well.

Bears 212 yards, Aggies 43 yards

TexasTerror
September 6th, 2008, 07:38 PM
Nathan Brown starts off with it and has already picked up two first downs...and is within another first down and change of the red zone. I think the UCA offense is going to wake up now and go full throttle...

Not sure the UC-Davis offense can keep up at their snail's pace...

This could turn bad - 14-0 Bears.

Major let down on 4th and 4 from the UC-Davis 29 as Nathan Brown goes 29 yards to Darrius McNeal...TOUCHDOWN, UCA!

UC-Davis blew a golden chance to stop the Bears...

Every play has heavy pressure on the Aggie QB - the offensive line seems to be the problem along with the inexperienced QB.

17-0 Bears. Pathetic Aggie performance. Bears looking pretty good.

TexasTerror
September 6th, 2008, 07:55 PM
Went away for awhile and UCA is up 17-0.

Despite the bad performance by UC-Davis, I think the individuals around the nation who vote in the polls will lend credibility to the win over what looks like a strong program (especially based off of their week one win) and give UCA some more love...

Great job by Denham...

Connects for 17 yards on a third down play then followed that up with a 19 yard TD pass the next play...

Did UC-Davis just have a fumble called off due to offsides on the kickoff return? That's just a bonehead penalty...

RB Trombetta at 1.5 yards per carry??? Passing game beginning to work.

Here comes Denham again...

Converted another third down and has UC-Davis at the UCA 35...and there's a 35 yard touchdown pass with 39 ticks left in the third...

So, can UC-Davis pull this one out?

Pretty much threw in the towel on them earlier and now Denham is looking very nice...

A few Nathan Brown passes set up Brent Grimes for a TD with 13:50 to go in the game...one TD through the air, another on the ground for Grimes...

Can you confirm how much time is remaining in this game? The SLC Game of the Week is turning out to be quite the contest...

Nevermind, got it -- 9:14 left in the game.

UC Davis makes a big stop on third and long in Davis territory.

UC Davis gets the ball back with just over 4:30 left on their 20.

GO AGS!!

Big win for UCA!

This game truly was the SLC Game of the Week!

Tough break for UC-Davis at the end, but the offense was stagnant way too long and needed to show up earlier if they wanted to win.

It's been nice having a personal conversation, Texas Terror. WR Chris Carter ended up with 189 receiving yards, almost all in one half. I think we will see good things from QB Denham but this was his first game.

That was a great game UC-Davis! There was no quit in your team tonight. If the Aggies can play like they did in the second half for the rest of the year you are going to be tough to stop!

What a game! I have never seen Coach as pixxed off as he was at the end of that game..how many points did we leave on the field??? UC Davis played massive defense tonight but we kept shooting ourselves in the foot with stupid penalties! A 60 yard punt was called back because we were lined up wrong??? C'mon fellas wake the crap up! Officiating was not at its best..many missed pass interference calls for both teams. But I'm a proud bear fan tonight! We got lucky and I can imagine that if UC Davis plays like they did in the second half........look out FCS...they will be a team to reckon with!

I met an Aggie hall of famer named Johnston or Johnson(I think) tonight. Elderly gentleman who told me some fascinating stories about Aggie football. Plus working the game I got to meet the Aggie head coach and he said he was really impressed with UCAs facilities and was overwhelmed by our hospitality for the whole team. I told him that I had heard from some of the football players when UCA went to UC Davis that they were treated great and it was much appreciated. What a great guy!

My two favorite quotes of the night:

overheard after the game, "I'm sick of losing"- a frustrated Aggie player with a fire and desire to win.

Spoken to me by an Aggie fan, "I can't believe the street outside the stadium, there are parties everywhere, it's like something straight out of a movie..and the unity of all those kids...it's amazing!"

Aggies, you have so much to be proud of tonight..your team may have lost, but I think they found their rythm on offense..the defense is just phenomenal! xbowx

Go Bears! xthumbsupx

Tough break my ass. If the officials hadn't of sucked so bad, UCA would have won by 30.xsmiley_wix

Announcers even said at the half that it was the worst officiating they'd ever seen and they were only 2 qtrs. in.

Purple Pride - kinda stuck on yourself. I think it was a very close game and could have gone either way. The Aggies get stuck with bad calls every week but I don't think they should win by 30 because of it. You're obviously young and wet behind the ears.

Differences in game this year vs. 2006 game at Davis:

Travel (we had two tough road trips in a row in 2006, still they were better).

Our QB is now a 5th yr. Sr., no mistakes this time.

While our front 7 had some very good individual athletes at DE in 2006 we how have 3 years of D-I recruiting under our belt and we are deeper, faster, and stronger on the front 7 than we were then.

UC Davis has the makings of a very good team. Their QB is going to be just fine (better than just fine!!) and number 1 is scary good.

We had some Ag fans at our tailgate and they were two great guys. One of them was Craig Miller (#6's dad) and the other was an old friend of his from HS I believe.

Great guys. I hope everyone had a safe trip home and ya'll win the rest of your games.

while the officiating was horrendous, it was for both sides. Had UC Davis hit a couple of long balls early, UCA might have been in a world of hurt, too.

Our D was dominating. In the first. All in all, a great game in which people got their money's worth. I'm proud of the Bears for winning this one, because this was a great win for our program, and for the Southland Conference in my mind!

I trust the few from UC Davis (and their band-uh!) had a safe return trip and enjoyed their stay in Central Arkansas, minus the final score.
