View Full Version : Who will win first?

This is NOT meant to be smack, so please keep it above board. I honestly hate to see programs in the crapper. Right now there are several teams who have some pretty long losing streaks. I should have done this last week as NCA&T and SFA already got the monkeys off their backs in week one after ending 27 and 11 game losing streaks respectively. xthumbsupx

Which one of these do you think will get a win first, and against which opponent? (I think these are the longest current)

Southern Utah (19 game streak)
Adams State
at Montana
Northern Arizona
at Texas State
Youngstown State
at UC Davis
at Cal Poly
at North Dakota
South Dakota
Northern Iowa

Indiana State (15 game streak)
at Eastern Illinois
at Northern Illinois
Southeast Missouri State
Illinois State
at Southern Illinois
at Western Illinois
South Dakota State
at North Dakota State
at Youngstown State
Northern Iowa
Missouri State

Savannah State (9 game streak)
Livingstone College
at Winston Salem State
at Bethune-Cookman
Howard (Miami, FL)
at Clark-Atlanta
Charleston Southern
at Mississippi Valley State
Concordia College
at Edward Waters College
at Webber International
North Carolina Central (Durham, NC)

Columbia (8 game streak)
at Towson
Princeton
Lafayette
at Penn
Dartmouth
at Yale
at Harvard
Cornell
at Brown

Southern Utah has a great opportunity against Adams State. If they lose that game, it could realistically be another 0-11 season in 2008.

I think definitely is more accurate.

ISU has a good shot against SEMO. We played them close at their place last year. We do have 40+ freshman on your roster though.

ISU has a rough go of it... in a tough conference... could be a long year...

You forgot Texas Southern I think their streak is at 15 games. TSU would get my vote, they will have wins against Shaw, Texas College, and Concordia.
9/6 @ Arkansas State
9/13 Shaw
9/20 @ Texas College
9/27 Concordia College
10/04 @ Texas State
10/11 @ Southern University
10/16 Jackson State
10/18 Jackson State
10/25 @ Alcorn State
11/08 Mississippi Valley State
11/20 Grambling State
11/29 @ Arkansas-Pine Bluff

Savannah State is playing Livingstone, Clark-Atlanta, Concordia, Ed Waters, and Webber. There's got to be a win in there somewhere.

I think Indiana State will beat SEMO, but surely one of these other schools will win first against one of the patsies on their schedule.
I had to go with Savannah State because their game starts an hour earlier than Southern Utah's game.

If SUU can't beat Adams State, they might as well shut down the program.

Concordia is not a sure thing. Concordia did upset Bethel (TN)...

You'd hope that TSU was able to defeat both Shaw and Texas College. This week will be a very interesting assessment of the Tigers as they play Arkansas State.

I still think the Tigers can beat Concordia, it may not be a walk over though.

Columbia doesn't have Marist on their schedule this year to get a win, so I don't see them winning any unless they happen to upset someone.

But you never know, Columbia went 5-5 in 2006, beating all three non-conference opponents (Fordham, Georgetown, and Iona) in addition to Cornell and Brown.

True, but with Savannah State being in the eastern time zone, they'll get the W before S.Utahxthumbsupx xlolx

Savannah state. Sorry Indiana State (conference partner)- it just doesn't look too great. Good luck! Wouldn't that be some upset against the Bison in Fargo!

Agreed. With Fordham, Towson and Lafayette as the OOCs, the best hope is against those who regularly join the Lions in the bottom half of the Ivy standings. Unfortunately they are looking at a mildly resurgent Dartmouth and a somewhat erratic Cornell, neither of which will be pushover.

Or the scores and who Livingston has lost to? Among those last year; Benedict College 43-6, Virginia Union 45-7, Fayetteville State 58-20, Bowie State 44-6, Elizabeth City State 55-8. And I've felt badly for SSU! Surely they can pull this one off!
