I haven't heard much about this matchup, does anyone have any thoughts? Predictions?

A strange match-up if you ask me. I don't know much about Nevada, but I picture it being a pretty white state like Utah. I really haven't read up on GSU this year. I think we ran most of their posters off. :(

The SWAC has not beaten an FBS team since the 1970s, if I am not mistaken, prior to the actual split into I-A and I-AA...I'm not sure Grambling can hang.

Since 2000...a list of Grambling vs FBS contests

52-0 Louisville, 2000
29-0 San Jose State, 2003
48-7 Washington, 2005
42-22 Houston, 2006
34-10 Pittsburgh, 2007

Closest one was Houston vs Grambling. Grambling scored final 15 points of the game as Houston called off the dogs and took Kevin Kolb out.

I don't think it will be close. Coach Broadway has them going in the right direction though. xnodx

It's a tough read on this game, Grambling lost their starting QB (senior starter) so it'll be interesting to see how the G-Men fair.

Grambling beat Oregon State 23-6 in 1985. Strangely, the game was played at Shreveport, LA. Kind of a road game against a I-AA for a major conference I-A. I wonder if it was the only one.

Interesting...I was going off information provided on TSPN. Guess I'll have to rely on my own research from now on. My mistake in believing them...xsmhx

The SWAC hasn't won a game over an FBS since 1985. Is that more recent than the MEAC?

Oregon state must have thought scheduling grambling would be an easy win for such a bad PAC 10 team, but it backfired..

I'm surprised GSU didn't build on that win by getting more games with bigger schools, but it may have had to do with where grambling would play.. I'm sure playing in shreveport was a great advantage for them... That was a good time to play oregon state.. They had exactly 0 winning seasons between 1971 and 1998... 27 years!!!

Delaware State beat Akron 52-26 in 1987, Akron's first year as a I-A.

So you're saying none of the Grambling people knew about that game. Not even old heads like Mikebigg? xconfusedx

Almost knocked off SMU in Shreveport in 1983.
