Yup, they seem to move the ball well.

Illegal motion penalty called against Del, would have almost given them 1st and goal if it hadn't been called.

Rascati is a BIG boy. I'm impressed!

They just showed his 2nd ranked I-AA passing efficiency to UNI's Eric Sanders.....too bad Sanders is hurt.

I like Rascati's size.....Sanders is smaller at 6'1" 190.....but alot more ellusive.

Both make excellent decisions.

Somone explain the Delaware kicker story again.....

this game should have been called JMU vs. Cuff...and Cuff won...does anyone have stats on how many plays went to someone other than Cuff, and then subtract out QB runs out of that. It's probably like 2 plays the entire game.

JMU really disappointed me. I figured after losing last week because of field conditions we'd come out ready to play in anything. That was AWFUL. If we're playing in good conditions or we're on turf, we win games, but if not, we lose. So what did someone else who watched the game think: was that long pass by Rascati that was called incomplete called correctly or incorrectly? I think it was a completion (but I'm a little biased...)

Nice job to Delaware though. They straight up outplayed us. I just wish our D would have come together, they were looking so good midway to the season but it's been downhill since then.

Mickey has a lot of work to do JUST to make this team solid next year.

Congrats to the Hens though....despite a few of your fans, there is no team that I would rather lose to. When I look at UD, I see JMU. Academics, athletics, and fans are quite similiar. Congrats fellas

The pass to 82 was clearly incomplete despite 82's whining.
After all Matthews didn't even throw his hat on that play and this is something Matthews did plenty of throughout the game.

The play that killed JMU in the end was when Rascati tripped over his own feet. It was 3rd and long and the JMU recievers took all the Hen defenders deep at least 30 yards. Rascati took off and and then slipped on his own feet after 10 yards and then slid for 5 yards. The refs gave him 3 yards which were undeserved and Matthews did another rain dance (of course it was already raining and we didn't need anymore). any normal QB would have made it even UD's Riccio but Ruscati is S L O W.

I would say that was the play of the game but UD's offense totally dominated the JMU defense racking up a sizable TOP advantage and a huge rushing offense advantage on a team that is "supposed" to be about smash mouth football. Omar Cuff again demonstrated that he is much superior to any JMU back.

Where was Banks? Where was Fenner?

He didn't trip over his own feet, they slipped out from under him. I hate to say it because I know I'm gonna get flack for it from everyone (I give umassfan 2 minutes) but if he was on turf and not wet grass he would have had the 1st down easy. And yeah, I don't know what happened to our smashmouth football, apparently it left with our graduates last year, cause I'm not seeing it a whole lot this year. And yeah...I gotta hand it to Cuff, if he plays like that in every game, he's a very very very good back.

He was on the best part of the field!!! By the way it was raining on Delaware's side as well and Cuff rushed for 233 Yards. I'm sorry but don't all players slip now and then.

Give Ruscati credit for making the decision to run. It was the right decision at the time. Was that a play that could have made a difference? Yes. Did he come close to making a 1st down? Only if the ref gave him credit for sliding 5 yards. Again as you said Cuff beat JMU. The last I saw Omar Cuff was wearing a UD uniform and had over 250 +yards of total offense against JMU. Where was Fenner? Where was Banks? Still waiting for your answer?

Cuff doesn't play that way in every game. He seemingly only does it against JMU. Otherwise, he gets the job done, I guess.

I actually thought Alvin Banks played pretty well...when he got the ball in his hands. Very shifty, speedy, and made things happen in open space. Don't know why JMU's coaches didn't try to maximize that. Don't really care, either.

Great and how many TD's did Banks have? Cuff has had 2 sub 100 yard rushing games in the last 15. Just what is your point? UD dominated in this game. Do you think that JMU dominated? I am willing to listen to your point on this.

Woah woah woah, blukeys...we're on the same team here! My comment about Cuff "getting the job done" was tongue-in-cheek for those that say he's not all that great a back.

No need to get on me about what I had to say about Banks. Yeah, he didn't score any TDs, but I didn't think he was crap. Just one football-naive guy's opinion.

I 100% agree that Delaware dominated this game. About the only matchup I saw in favor of JMU was their WRs vs our CBs...and even that's a stretch to say.

Blue Hens end slide vs. JMU: Cuff’s 4 TDs key 34-28 victory over defending champs

This time, they had proved it.

Behind a career-high 236 yards and four touchdowns from sophomore Omar Cuff, the Blue Hens ended their three-game losing streak in style, dumping defending I-AA national champion James Madison, 34-28, on Saturday at rainy Delaware Stadium....."

I think you need to check your JMU fans who like to make an excuse over everything... I think the JMU water polo team is looking for some players.... oh wait... they dont like water.

Sorry if it came off as if I was making excuses...blukeys said he tripped over his own feet, but I didn't think he did. I thought he slipped and yes, I admit that does happen every now and then. Sorry to everyone if I came across as whining, I was just stating what I saw. It was his fault he slipped. And yes, we are terrible on anything but turf, I'm not gonna deny that. We call very conservative plays and IMO don't use the right players to the best of their abilities (we need to use UD and Cuff as an example) but you play us on turf and we'll tear you up :D

We did admit it..over..and over...and over again...I don't think there was a post one of us made that didn't say we got beat and that Cuff played an amazing game, or that we played a terrible game. So....here we go. Yes, both teams did play on the same field. Yes, it is football. Cuff most definitely ran over our defense with absolutely no problem. I am scared to death of the force Delaware will become in the next 3 years with Cuff getting better and better. Are you happy now? is there anything else you want me to say? I'm tempted to not come back to the boards anymore because of all you posters who aren't happy unless we praise your team in every post, but I respect to many other peoples' opinion on here to leave. :bang:

I figured after losing last week because of field conditions we'd come out ready to play in anything. That was AWFUL. If we're playing in good conditions or we're on turf, we win games, but if not, we lose.

You sir are totally delusional. JMU has gotten its redneck keyster handed to it on 2 successive weeks because JMU is simply not that good. Has nothing to do with field condtions and everything to do with which team wants it more. your team is simply not prepared to win. No Heart.

I partially agree and partially disagree. I agree we have no heart compared to last year, but we'll see next week if we are "simply not that good". so until after that game, i'm out, no more thinking about football, it puts too much strain on my head :(

Well I hung out with your "fans" at your defeat at Umass and I've got to tell you buddy I was not impressed. Y'alll were dropping F bombs and talking all sorts of sh@t. So as soon as JMU wants to set itself up for a good sportsmansip award let me know.

This smack board is "right over there" --->
anybody who has been to a JMU game lately to see the ad for the bookstore will get the joke...
This is for intelligent discussions of the games and teams...or at most biased...but not smack. At the game I'm fine with talking all the smack you want, but it's just not the same on the boards. So please don't even compare the way ANY fans act on the board to how they act on the boards...it's just not fair to anyone, especially us, cause we get pretty bad at football games :o

Something is odd with the whole situation. The 2004 JMU team had "heart" aplenty... that team wasn't the most talented in I-AA, it might not have been in the top 5 even, but they left it all on the field and played better as a team than anybody.

Maybe the NC whetted their appetites too much?

Just wanted to give kudos to the JMU fans who made it to the game this week. They were a very vocal group particularly late when JMU was trying to come back. (I didn't here any F-bombs, but there were only a few purple shirts in the North endzone). I was a little surprised that JMU's band wasn't there as they had been in past games. Other commitment ?

JMU is just finding out what other previous A10 champs already knew... it's a hell of a lot easier to get to the top... then it is to stay there... ;)

I was at the game. The field for the most part was in GREAT shape. The mess that we had in the Hofstra game was repaired and even with some pretty heavy rain the new sod held up well. In terms of the various plays mentioned. The long pass did hit the ground but it was close. Rusacati actually tripped on the long 3 down run when he crossed over from the old mud/grass surface to the new sod. It might have been possible that had something to do with him falling. I saw the JMU / Umass game on TV and that field condition was the same as we had for Hofstra. On the re-sodded surface Cuff has 236 yards in the Hofstra game I believe that he had 35 or so.

The thing that I didn't understand is that JMU pretty much came out of their normal game plan right at the start. They didn't establish the running game. This was the most complete game that UD played this year against a good JMU team. Don't think that we will make the playoffs this year with 3 losses already but we certainly can make a statement for next year.

Hmm...I can't see how a three point loss to UMass in a bog qualifies as getting our "redneck kiesters" handed to us...please explain. I mean, generally a game that ends with a game-winning field goal wouldn't be considered total domination by the winning team.
