He was a Clemson recruit but couldn't cut it as far as grades... but he's considered an NFL prospect. The news said it was down to NDSU and Memphis with Middle Tennessee State having an outside shot. He played last year just down the road at JuCo NDSCS in Wahpeton, so let's keep our fingers crossed! xpeacex

I think we can make an exception... besides, who knows, maybe a year in JuCo helped him work on his academics...

Do they still offer underwater basket weaving at the JuCo?? Or was it the advanced class of lawn mowing and you?

at 6-6 288 lb and runs a 4.6 40, how do you pass on that? I'm sure the coaches would work with the grades in this situation.

He qualified academically to the NCAA DI standard.

It was the university that denied his application.

Perhaps the coaches felt that the team's APR was too low to take the risk?

NDSU, on the other hand, has great ADR and we can afford to have this guy, even if we can only hang onto him for the 2008 season.

Lets beat App in the 2008 championship first.

Then Bohl, Taylor and Chapman can make the official announcement that NDSU is moving up to FBS on live ESPN national TV.

Better take care of business in the MVFC first - I am sure everyone other than ISU is preparing you a welcome party. This is not the great west.

The beautiful thing about the MVFC: you don't have to win it to get in the playoffs.

Should have 4 teams in this season.

Looking at 5 a year when the playoffs go to 20.

Clemson is solid academically. Plus they have tightened down on requirements. They have had a few very good players try to get in that they turned down over the last couple years. They are much better than in years past.

Not sure that will happen each year. Teams in a stacked league will beat up on each other and probably do like the CAA and have 5 one year and then only 2-3 in others. Just depends on how you do in out of league play. Losing 2 non league games pretty much kills your playoff chances in the MVC unless you run the table in league play or tie for the title.

My favorite quote from the article...

“They changed the admission requirements on him,” Parsons said.

Makes it sound like a conspiracy to keep him out of Clemson.

It could very well be that the team decided that they were right on the border for the APR and didn't need to take the risk.
