CALGARY - Rookie Calgary Stampeders guard Dimitri Tsoumpas will put all the knowledge he picked up at his first professional training camp to use on Thursday night when he gets the start against the B. C. Lions in their CFL season opener at Mc-Mahon Stadium.
The door swung open for the 6-foot-4, 315-pound graduate of Weber State when third-year player Derek Armstrong, the club's fifth-round draft pick in 2006, suffered an injury during training camp.
"I'm very excited," Tsoumpas said following yesterday's closed practice.
"It's a good opportunity, so I want to make the most of it."
