Vancouver – Standout UBC Thunderbirds linebacker Shea Emry was touted as one of the most athletic players in the 2008 CFL Canadian Draft, something the Montreal Alouettes highly valued as they chose the 6-foot-1, 235 pound Richmond native with the sixth overall pick.
Emry, a transfer from Eastern Washington University, led the Thunderbirds in tackles this season, picking up 57 over seven games to finish fourth in the conference. The 21 year-old notched six of those tackles for a loss, forced one fumble, and added one knockdown in his impressive first season in the CIS.
