From the Huntsville Item, here is a story about SHSU offensive lineman Chris Louvier who was looking at possibly going in this weekend's NFL draft. However, he has had to deal with the "fight of his life" as the title notes, a fight against a brain tumor that has left him sick and trying to get his life back on track. Highly recommended article!

This was supposed to be the biggest weekend of Chris Louvier's life. He had endured five long years of playing football at Sam Houston State as an offensive lineman, and as the season was wrapping up, talk of playing in the NFL began.

Teams and agents started contacting Louvier during the season, but the 6-5, 295-pounder from Dayton was keeping it all in perspective, not even wanting to talk about the possibility of playing pro ball until the time was right.

Unfortunately, once the time was right, he couldn't even begin the process of working out and interviewing with NFL teams. When the Houston Texans and Cleveland Browns called him in February, he had to tell them the bad news he received from a doctor just weeks earlier - he had a brain tumor.

Once Louvier got the news, the NFL was the farthest thing from his mind.
