good start for NSU!

The NSU QB looks to be in for a long night.....did a good job with the pass rush....but think its gonna catch up with him.

These QBs don't know how to limit their loss when they are going to be sacked

You have to wonder why South Carolina State is ranked. I am not impressed with the Bulldogs. A sloppy game, with a ton of penalties. If McCoy could hit the broad side of a barn, Darby would be up for All-American honors. I loved seeing Buddy Pough get into Baker's face when he got the unsportsmanlike penalty for the skull and crossbones gesture after his first TD.

Norfolk State is holding its own, even though the Spartans still can't play defense.

One question: Is Pete Adrian the only white head coach at an HBCU? One piece of trivia, Adrian's replacement as defensive coordinator at Bethune-Cookman was Georgia Southern's Rusty Russell.

South Carolina State appears to have its hands full. 21-21 with 5:19 left in the third.

I have been real impressed by Darby. Just think how good the Bulldogs would be with a good QB to get Darby the ball more regularly.

On another note: maybe they should have been showing Iona vs St. Peter's. Iona won that one 27-26.

The sophomore DB Brooms came up big for SC State in the fourth quarter, breaking up one long pass play that could have been six points and then stripping NSU's Baker for a fumble after a reception deep into Bulldog territory.

It was a short week and according to CBP they practiced Wed. in Orangeburg so that means they traveled today. Not making excuses but it could make the difference IMHO.
