Montana has been charging for the spring game for a quite a while. I think there was 5-6k at the one in Billings last year. Here's a link to the page for this years.

The Bobcats have been doing the final scrimmage in Great Falls the past few years as the "Triangle Classic". The Great Falls area boosters have a pre-night banquet, auction, etc. which is a fund raiser for Bobcat Athletics. The scrimmage itself costs $5. No big deal, it's all for the 'Cats.

Butkus coming for Triangle Classic
Special to the Tribune

Professional football Hall-of-Famer Dick Butkus kicks off the fifth annual Triangle Classic in Great Falls, a weekend featuring the Montana State football team.

Well when you get 5,000 or so fans to your spring game, why not make some $. :)

There are a bunch of teams in FCS that would love to have 5,500 fans at their home games.
