Maybe Maine's problem was not where they were playing, but who they were playing. It's a novel idea especially when you're the only game in the state basically that maybe it would work with a higher profile team.

Only 9385 at the Harvard/Lehigh game. A beautiful day for football. High temp of 69, not one friggin cloud in the sky. I think the Bostonians obsession with their 'Sacks' was the reason. I expected 12,000 or more.

Who had heard of Northern Colorado when Maine drew 10,000+ (sellout) for them last year? Albany plays in the same all sports conference as Maine, so the name recognition should be there.

The Youngstown State crowd was awesome! As loud as anyone in I-AA in the Final 5 Minutes of the Game. Brings back the memories of the Tressel Days! GO PENGUINS!

Portland's Fitzpatrick Stadium only holds 6,000, so attendance couldn't be much higher no matter who the opponent was.

Those folks at TxSt-San Marcos are making such a big deal of attendance. Maybe these numbers will make them feel better about themselves. Then again, they've got perhaps the highest enrollment of all I-AA schools if not near the top with 27,000 folks and they still have problems passing 10,000 folks at their games...

As an A10 fan I have to love this.....

Villanova - 140% capacity (due to a game at Franklin Field, but still)
New Hampshire - 116% capacity
James Madison - 104% capacity
Delaware - 102% capacity
W&M - 96% capacity
Towson - stadium record this past weekend.

Gotta say the Towson number has to be bogus - that number would've only left 1,000 empty seats. Being at the game, and being next to 2 completely empty sections, it just wasn't the case. 8k maybe, 10k by Temple's numbers.

Yeah, billk and I said the same thing. There were a lot of students on the concourse around the stadium though. I was on the TU side to start the game and the ushers were telling students to go to the away side because the home side was full (it really wasn't but I think they were tired of dealing with drunk students trying to find seats).

The attendance at UNH's Cowell stadium for last saturday's game with Villanova was pitiful as usual at approx.8500.That was the best number they've had in 10 years.

ASU had 144% in KBS for the Citadel-App game in week 4. Not bad for a stadium in the backwoods of NC with 5 Division I-A schools in NC and 9 or 10 within a Saturday morning driving distance.

Actually 10067 seems pretty lame considering you were ranked at the time, the weather was great and your team was looking pretty good until Saturday.

UCD had 30,065 last year. Sac State is also at like 28,000. I think those are the biggest two in I-AA

Just how many people do think will come and stand around the fence at the inside of the track????????? Not everybody is like me, happy to do a day trip from CT and stand up at the top of home bleachers.

Being a "glass half full" guy, I've been happy that both games are over capacity and more students are attending. Actually, I believe there have been more students than normally attend a hockey game. :eek: That is HUGE!!

Unfortunately, without more seats I don't think we'll really know how many folks would come out. The Union Leader has really been playing up the #1 ranking and has special sections about this season and last year. A good showing at W&M will probably bring out even more folks. I think the key to getting fund raising going is to at least keep punching out Cowles during October. Sellouts in November will speak volumes.
