Okay, it's Friday, I'm giving my two weeks notice to my current client, and 5:00 can't come fast enough. With that, here is a time waster with which to have some fun. If, your logo has changed since your playing/school days, what did it look like then and do you like it better now or back in the day? (Sorry Delaware...this game won't work for you).

I'll get the ball rolling...here is what the logo looked like back in the early to mid 90s for Lafayette...

Here is what it looks like now...

While I think the helmets of today (which just have a classic "L" on them are pretty classy...I like the old logo better. Less cartoonish.

Acutally, this would work for us regarding the logo. And there's really no comparison. I'd venture a guess that ever UD fan over the age of 8 would prefer this

The old Blue Hen rocked. No offense to YouDee of course.

Whoops...my bad. Game on for Delaware. And I agree I like the old one better. When your mascot is a hen you really have to go with the toughest looking hen possible and I think the old one looks tougher.

We've always struggled a bit with getting a decent logo.

But anyway, it went from these in my era:

Through a few others I won't bother posting to our current logo:

That's a damn shame! You have one of the coolest animals to work with and you can't come up with a decent logo...If I were a Grizzly team I'd just slap this on the sides of the helmets...

I disagree . . it's a marketing and merchandising decision and the new logo works much better. and it's not nearly as cartoonish as a number of other new logos that have come out.

old school or new, a 'pard is a 'pard  better than a mountain hawk, and at least we don't have to wear brown . .

that's hilarious. reminds me of my fordham days when our Ram was clearly a "Ewe" in Ram's clothing. It was funny, sad and embarassing to see these ridiculously feminine gestures (and even the way she would walk when not "on") along with the fact that the outfit was clearly top heavy so she always seemed to have one hand on the base of her neck to keep the head on when she moved.

It really fired up the crowd and struck fear into the hearts of all our opponents.

One of the best performances I have ever seen by a college mascot was by the Fordham Ram. This must have been about 6 years ago. This kid was on fire! The high light of his act was a "strip tease" which involved taking off his shorts and T-shirt. Didn't matter much since it was only covering up his ram suit anyway. Very funny though. If there was any future in being a mascot on the pro level...this kid had the goods!

No offense inteneded and certainly there would probably be Title IX implications, but they should ban women from donning the mascot suits. Never seen it work.

Jax State has put some chicks in the Cocky suit a few times over the last 10 years. Occassionally you tell, but for the most those girls have done a pretty good job. The only real negetive I recall is when they pick a very short-statured woman to do it. When most fans tower over what's supposed to be a giant chicken, something's just not right.

cat, that's one of the funniest looking helmet logos i've ever seen.
