Lester Hardin, one of ASU Football icon passed away Feb. 20, 2008. Lester was one of ASU's most loyal athletic boosters for over 50 years. He rarely missed a football game during those years.
Lester was my landlord in the early '80s and as I look back decades later I learned more about leadership, loyalty, and being a human being from Lester. I dont remember many of my professors' names, I don't remember many of my drinking buddies. I dont remember many of my classes. But I remember Lester, and how he shaped many people, without teaching a lesson.
Lester is missed and revered by this Old Ref. My condolences to Lester's wife and children, as well as the legions of Lester's extended family.
