Never heard of Cal Davis - do they play at the Davis High School stadium or at UC Davis when the Aggies are away?

Nice OOC, but it's not Cal Davis, NEVER Cal Davis. It's UC-Davis.

Again, though, nice OOC, and good luck to Iona in 2008!!!

What's up with the road game at Delaware Valley? Why is a D-I school travelling to a D-III one?

Its a return game from last year. Rightly or wrongly, non-scholly FCS teams have about as much clout as D3 teams when it comes to scheduling.

Im not gonna fault Iona for making due in a tough situation as an Indy; they literally play almost every type of college football team there is in the NCAA (D3, D2, FCS-Non-Scholly, FCS Partial Scholly, FCS Full Scholly) You just dont want to see any team linger in no man's land like that for too long.

Nice OOC scheduling? Two D.II and Two D.III including an away trip to one of the D.III schools? I realize the MAAC is a glorified D.III conference and on its last legs and all, but seriously. I would have thought the PFL would have thrown Iona a couple games

The MAAC is no more. Iona is an FCS Independent.

Actually there entire schedule is OOC, the MAAC has been officially disolved as a footbal conference.

some really good matches and some weird games. Still a decent schedule for being an Indie and not having a lot of options.

You have some tough games on that schedule. At least 6 of them are at home.

I know that Iona is a in between a rock and a hard place, but I honestly think that schedules like this will be the demise of their program.

Unless Iona joins a conference and fast, they are never going to be able to recruit anyone but DIII kids playing that schedule.

Unfortunantly I think thats all they really had all along anyway, with perhaps a few exceptions

Hang in there Iona. Start looking for an FCS conference now for 2009 and maybe offer some scholarships along the wayxnodx
