A referee of Pee Wee, high school and college football for more than 30 years, the South Yarmouth resident had to call it quits after being diagnosed 5 years ago with a malignant melanoma and renal cancer. But that didn’t stop his involvement in the sport.

He now works for nonprofit USA Football, the sport’s national governing body, as an Officials Observer for the ECAC, Patriot, Ivy and Colonial Athletic Association.
