Grambling Catches Another Receiver Commitment
Receiver Van Phillips Jr., one of The Birmingham (Ala.) News’ “10 players who could emerge as major college players,” has committed to Grambling State.
Phillips (6-2, 205; 4.5 in the 40) lettered in four sports at Shades Valley (Irondale, Ala.) High, even while maintaining a 3.2 GPA. A tight end as a sophomore, he switched to receiver and began bulking up from about 167 pounds.
