Sounds like a good hire.

By the way, his son was one of the better WR's in 1-aa football last year. I forget his first name, but he played for Massachusetts and signed as a free agent with the New York Giants in 2007. Actually, even, spent time on Big Blue's prctice squad this season.

Brandon London

I remember seeing him with UMass, not a bad receiver at all. Never really caught on with the G-Men though, just not quite at the level they were looking for, I guess.

Actually, didn't he post on AGS for a while? Deepthreatwr or something? It was definately one of the UMass WRs...

I think it's impressive that a FCS school can lure a BCS league coordinator. They must be stepping up to the plate pretty well in terms of compensation.

The Richmond paper this morning stated that the deal is for 5 years and between 275k and 300k. But it's a private university so the actual salary isn't reported anywhere. He was making $240k at UVA.

One report I've read says he will be one of the highest paid 1-AA coaches. He is well respected everywhere he has been, lte hope he can repeat the same magic at UR.

I'll tell you, I did not like the way Brandon London played the game of football at UMass, though I'm sure that is no reflection on the quality of coach that his father was. With the talent Richmond has and his credentials, I see no reason not to expect similar success.

As for Brandon, god he was annoying to watch. He was VERY GOOD, but sadly, he knew it. His repeated taunts to the opposing crowd, flexing, wearing his jersey up at his head, it was disgusting to see. Good luck to Richmond with this hire.

UR is paying big money for London & assistants. Ayers has held up his end of wanting to bring a winning tradition to UR and is approving the money for it. Coming off raising $25 million, it's nice to see the athletic department willing to go out and spend money to get their guy.

London spoke at the basketball game yesterday and I think as sad as everyone was to see Clawson leave is as excited as we are to have London.

Now time to finalize the recruiting class and get the guys back into their workouts and ready for spring practice.
