Pate gets nod under center against Texas Tech on Saturday

With quarterback Noah Allen now out for the year, the Sam Houston State Bearkats will begin the process of finding a new quarterback with just two games and three weeks to go before Southland Conference action begins.
The task to take the reigns of the SHSU offense will be given to Wade Pate after the team learned Thursday that Allen has been ruled ineligible by the NCAA this season.
It will be the second start of the season for Pate, the redshirt sophomore from Arp, and the sixth of his career after starting four games during his true freshman season in 2003.
