Furman. They need to make a statement, and I think saturday's the day they do.

I say Furman by a couple handful's. Martin doesn't seem to be the type to let a bad game get him down. Most of the good ones don't.

Samford catches Furman at the absolute wrong time after Furman's loss to Western Carolina. It is also Furman's home opener. I see the Paladins making a big statement in this game. Also, the SoCon is 4-0 against the OVC so far.

I think the Paladins will come to play. This is the start of a crucial 4-game homestand (Samford, Hofstra, G-W, App)... winning those games with good play would pretty much move the team beyond what happened @WCU. Furman remains immensely talented... I think it starts to come together this Saturday. It's tough to play your first two games against quality opponents on the road.

This is the first game we'll get to see what Samford's made of this year. I say it's sugar & spice & everything nice.

It will be 5-0 against the OVC after this game.

It will be pure misery for Samford on Saturday...look for a big victory.
FU - 45
Samford - 10

It's time for the offense to roll and defense to make a statement.

The only read I have on Samford thus far is a big win against NAIA(?) Edward Waters (FL), 60-7, and a 48-14 loss to Division I-A Baylor.

Normally I would think the same thing, but after our first two games, who knows? I could see us winning by five touchdowns or even losing this game. We need to get things righted VERY quickly.

Furman's running game is now dominating...TD Felton to give Furman a 45-23 lead with 3:51 remaining.

I'm glad Furman bounced back this week, but the defense will have to improve in order to beat Hofstra next week.
