One success does not a total bust make...do remember that the SI cover curse has been around for many years and chances are its going to bite somebody again before too long.

Exactly.

Another example of that is the 2004-2005 College Basketball Issue had Carolina on the cover, and picked them to win the Championship. The Heels then lost the first game of the season to Santa Clara, and still went on to win it all.

The SI curse works in mysterious ways. ;)
