It was sent out to the media today but has not been posted on their site. I just looked and found it on a school website.

I posted the link in my first post.

Being named a unanimous All-American is a very prestigious honor. Here is a list of the players who have made both the Walter Camp and AFCA teams, thus keeping them alive for unanimous honors.

He has a good argument for Lynch. Personally, the four listed are all good players. There are a lot of worthy DBs this year. You could make a case for Cromartie of Tenn State to be on the list as well.

When Lynch is likely to win the FCS Defensive Player of the Year and is not on an All-American team then someone isn't paying attention - He is the top big play/game changing defender in the country and he has been All-American the previous 2 seasons and NOT THIS YEAR??? - Give me a break!!!

Congratulations to all that made the team and to those teams, coaches and schools that helped them earn this award.

I was going to say thank you for the efforts of the parents, however, their involvement may have been misconstrued by some so I won't...:)

I never said he wasn't worthy, but to add him someone must be removed.

Lynch is a first team all-american on this year's Walter Camp list and will be more. We will have to wait for them to come out.

I would most definitely have Lynch on there. Course I would have Foster too. Maybe he can win the Payton and really make the voters look foolish.
It would be like Tim Tebow not being on a 1st team all QB after winning his Heisman Trophy.

Way too many times many AA teams are chosen entirely on stats and if that is the case here, then, as I said, someone wasn't paying attention ---

Do the AFCA also name Offensive and Defensive players of the year?

Some groups don't name the winners of those 2 awards to the "Teams".

Yeah that is a shame some do that too. That is dumb to say someone it the best at something and not put them on the team. That is just an excuse to put more players. There shouldn't be 30 or 40 players on a 1st team All-America list, or else it isn't as prestigious.

I don't think the AFCA does that.

Lynch should be an All-American. So should Mike Gallihugh and Jordan Scott of Colgate!

I think the Colgate duo will. The AP and TSN both name a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd team. I would be shocked if they didn't get honored by one of them or Don Hansen at least.

AFCA is a respected list because it a coaches thing, but the whole All American thing is purely objective. It all depends on what part of the country you live in. I was kinda shocked Safe, Mays, or drago from NDSU didn't make it at least one of them, but like has been said previously who do you take off that list. Its hard naming the top 11 for both sides of the ball. You are bound to have to leave off one or two guys that should be on there.

I was surprised to see Carptenter left off as the kicker, but I don't know anything about the kicker from Wagner, and he may be a better replacement.

There won't be a single All-American team in any college sport where there won't be some notable omissions but in most cases the players on an All-American team are deserving. The cases made for players who should be on it and made to validate the players are on it are purely objective. I was disappointed that no NDSU players made it but when there are only 25 spots for the several thousand players, many fans are bound to be disappointed.

There also isn't a single All-America team in the country that someone won't call a joke.

I'm sure Colgate's Dlineman will not miss him. Pat Nolan and Galihugh know this kid all too well. I'm sure Dick Biddle will trade a holding call for not having a First Team All American out on the field.

Proud to see Ryan Maher on the list, he was a sensational reciever and will not miss seeing him on the field in Crusader Purple at all. Way to end your career Ryan, Wish you went to Lafayette and got 3 rings a long with it.

Only one of those other guys is even listed as a finalist for the Buchanan award. So how do they get the nod over Lynch. Not saying they aren't fine ball players but come on. You would be flipping your lid if Santos was left off this list.... It should have been a no brainer!!!xnonono2x

Every All American Team you see will be a result of an opinion poll.
Every list will have players left off that deserve mention.
It does not necessarily make the list a joke.
People vote on what they've seen.

We've argued/discussed weekly polls on this board every day for 5 months.

The only thing we can agree on is the best thing about this level of football is polls don't mean a whole heck of alot and are thrilled things are decided on the field.

If someone can show me a senior who has made AA in both his So. and Jr. years and arguably had his best year as a SR. for the 2 time National Championship team - A player who has made numerous key plays to win games THEN I AM WITH YOU IN YOUR CALLING AN OMISSION A JOKE!!! - I'm not talking about a player who maybe should have been included - I AM TALKING ABOUT THE BEST DEFENSIVE PLAYER IN THE COUNTRY!!!

This is why I hate individual awards for team sports. A couple posts of congratulations and many posts of those disgruntled with the selections.

I think Corey if very deserving of any and all accolades. However, I am sure the members of this team are deserving as well.

According to the ASU media guide Corey made an all american team each year but not all the teams: 2005 first team i-aa.org and second team AP & TSN; 2006 first team CSN and second team TSN and this year he is a Walter Camp All American.

I am sure all the players would trade any individual award for their team winning a National Championship and, of course, Corey is going for 3 in a row.

Sure they would trade the AA award for another championship, that is the kind of fine young men who play for APP, but that is not what this post was about ---
