My picks:
Monmouth - What to think of Campbell? Ds of both are inconsistent.
Richmond - Both teams' seasons are toast after two early losses for both. The winner can pick their momentum back up.
Rhody
Howard - Hampton's season is lost?
W&M - Tribe's domination continues.
Morgan State
UNH - post-Teevens era of Dartmouth begins here. UNH begins it with a rude awakening for the Big Green.
Delaware
Elon
UCF - Villanova's D hasn't been tested that much.
Red Wolves - Stony Brook can finish winless, perhaps? xchinscratchx

Campbell at Monmouth - for those in NYC metro area the game is live on SNY as well- The Hawks will be the new darling of the CAA after this game and develop apprehensive love from many here, who will then root for their demise which will not happen. Please listen to me folks- This is a Monmouth team that will get better each week and I GUARANTEE shirden goes off which will allow for our potent and deep WR corp to get open looks. The ? is will our defense play well enough to stop some Camel big plays ad get some turnovers/sacks. The plays that scare me most are the simple ones- 8 yard crossing patterns, 5 yard outs, b/c we seem to not tackle great in space. If we fix that watch out.
Delaware State at Richmond - Richmond has to win right? Yes.
Rhode Island at Maine - closer game than some may think
Hampton at Howard - zero clue, I will take the CAA. This is the last chance I am giving Hampton.
W&M at Charleston Southern - I actually thought about taking CS and not just b/c of The Clemson 1st half-- Ok yes that is why.
Towson at Morgan State- should be a good game, is Morgan State for real? If they win we still will not really know!
Dartmouth at New Hampshire - In past years a question mark but UNH seems to have the goods
St Francis PA at Delaware will be closer than the spread and SF will have a lead or be within 1 score at some point in the 2nd half but Hens roll.
NC A&T at Elon - Elon has to win right? I mean they literally HAVE to.
Villanova at UCF Dont try and get cute, a scalp is not happening here.

Please! I have several posts outlining how I think The CAA is over rated in general! I also am THE ONLY ONE seemingly not all over Albany for being 1-2 but "losing close" to a couple FBS. And I literally JUST made a post today saying I still need to see more from URI. Not only that but see how I put "good" in quotes when referring to "good team"- I am not the one who makes the rankings and declares who is good. 2 weeks ago Richmond was good right? Are they now? How about Elon? Nova? Albany? The point is they play Richmond, Nova, MU, Maine, Albany, UNH. They also play Fordham who just beat an FBS and will be top 25-30 in the polls ad Morgan State who may be ? So yeah I think they beat one of those teams. I think all you are doing is your typical Monmouth hating b/c I think we are good, so your perception is that I think everyone is good, but what you say is simply not based on any facts and in fact is thwarted by actual real things I wrote!!! Not mad, Love you, but I call it out when I see it.

Not for nothing dude but do you guys suck this year? B/c I watched the SB game and although it was clear you guys were way better, the score was 24-13 in the 4th qtr and SB ran for 170 yards. URI also did not totally dismantle them. I am NOT saying SB is good but they have some grit and for whatever reason you guys needed some late stuff to truly put them away.

OK - Love the attitude! Lived in Bergen Co., NJ. But the CAA has established potency.

Delaware, Villanova, UNH, Richmond, heck even Maine.

Surprises are expected. From week to week, the enemy of my enemy is a friend.

And why-come-is-it, Paul Shafer and Stony Brook knock off a CAA contender when I need it?

MONMOUTH - "Trust, but Verify". I agree, when Shirden goes off down the field, defenses don't prioritize Hawks' WR. I just haven't seen them flinch yet.

Just waiting for an update on injuries from NDSU but regardless with weather being an issue with Hurricane Lee expected to be an issue in the Maine and the Maritines there is no way I'm picking the Rams to break the streak.

A ticked off Oklahoma team in Norman and Memphis at the Liberty Bowl aren't the best barometer. SBU is in contention for the worst FCS "power conference" team in the country. I think Arkansas State gets themselves ready for SBC play hammering a hapless Seawolves team in Jonesboro. The Red Wolves were pretty bad last year and still beat Grambling 58-3. I expect a similar score on Saturday...

I don't want to be ignorant towards Jonesboro but it's not a great place to spend a weekend. Especially, if you're from Long Island. I can't imagine SBU being overly excited for this one.....

This is one of the most demoralizing losses I have seen in a long time for us. Everyone sort of knew Campbell had talent and might be good, but we were like one play away from breaking their will and instead they broke ours. You guys were right, Monmouth just does no have it...and now 2 important starters are done for the year. I am defeated mentally.

Maybe- but he played well enough to beat Campbell. I counted 6 drops, 1 for a TD a couple others on late 4th downs. And these were DROPS- like balls in WR hands.. We were good enough to hang with a perhaps decent, perhaps good CAA team with size, talent, experience and speed but once again like last year failed to make the plays. I am not a "stat" guy although it may seem like I am. I use stats to look at relativity.."Can we do X Y and Y" and here was today's:

1st downs- 25-24 Camels

Total yards-435-423 Camels

time of possession (show me something like this it does not happen often when you lose)- 42:30- 17:30 Monmouth

We were up 23-7 with 3 minutes left in the half! and they make it 23-16. We were tied 31-31 with about 8 minutes left. We got the ball back down 7 with a chnace to tie it, plenty of time left and went 4 and out before they got the late score to make it 14 margin. Point? Pretty even game coming down to a few opportunities they cashed in on and we did not. SAME as last year. IMO, that is not a lack of talent, a lack of being comparable or even good- it is mental toughness, understanding situations and attitude. With that said, with the injuries we suffered today and just obvious lack of follow through in the mental game, we are just not there BUT I do not think it is really the QB but I get what u are sayig. Nice job smoking a top IVY today- love it..

I think I am relatively fair and I just do not agree. I am not saying he is an All American, but I am tossing the FAU game- Towson he made a ton of very good throws 2 gorgeous needle threading TD passes. Yesterday there were at least 5-6 drops and he made a ton of good throws. There was never a time where it was like "damn if we had a capable QB we would win this". Instead it was "damn if we could make some fkin defensive stops or stop being so conservative we could win this" You guys may indeed end up being right, but the QB is not the reason we did not win yesterday. But I see the point-- "if" he were a stud then the plays would eventually be made.. Really bad night for me, on top of the $$ lost, when I got home I came down with something awful, 102 fever, headache, rapid pulse body aches and exhaustion. Feel better today but between that, the awful loss just a depressed state!

Most expected (I did) a more lopsided score at CSU yesterday. Ended 15-7. Tribe offense only had one productive TD drive - 2 FGs and a safety. So offense sputtered and near 100 yards penalties stubbed a couple other drive opportunities.

But defense carried the day. CSU held to just 77 total yards (Clemson held them to 74 TY previous week) and their TD came on a 100 yd kickoff return after Tribe took initial 3-0 lead. It was the best defensive showing in terms of yards surrendered for W&M since the 1996 Bucknell game.

You out gained them 395 yards to 77??? Were there a lot of W&M turnovers? The stats are as inconsistent with the score as any I've seen. Chuck South has one win, 13-10 over a school I've never heard of, North Greenville. Any other observations to explain the game?

Dartmouth contained him better than anyone so far this year - a mere 223 all purpose yards, 180 rushing. Because of the high winds, the return game was non-existent. Dartmouth only kicked-off twice, both times with the wind and the ball landed beyond the end zone. The punts with the wind ended up in the endzone, and into the wind they were skied and only traveled about 25 yards - a fair catch was the only good option.
The passing game was very limited by the wind as well. Dartmouth got most of their passing yards on their last two drives - they got plenty of yards but they didn't score on either. UNH up 24-7 was in a prevent/dime defense while Dartmouth was completing very short passes.

Dartmouth surprised me a bit, the game was competitive until the last half of the 4th QTR. I was particularly impressed with their tackling.

I don’t think it’s fair to say anyone has figured out Tribe’s run game. We rushed for nearly 200 yards with two starters on the OL out and 8 in the box for CSU. It’s very fair to say our WRs & TEs have struggled. Also very true that we’ve settled for FGs that should be TDs. If we correct those two things, we’ll run the table. If not, we’ll cling to (maybe) a playoff berth.

I think I am relatively fair and I just do not agree. I am not saying he is an All American, but I am tossing the FAU game- Towson he made a ton of very good throws 2 gorgeous needle threading TD passes. Yesterday there were at least 5-6 drops and he made a ton of good throws. There was never a time where it was like "damn if we had a capable QB we would win this". Instead it was "damn if we could make some fkin defensive stops or stop being so conservative we could win this" You guys may indeed end up being right, but the QB is not the reason we did not win yesterday. But I see the point-- "if" he were a stud then the plays would eventually be made.. Really bad night for me, on top of the $$ lost, when I got home I came down with something awful, 102 fever, headache, rapid pulse body aches and exhaustion. Feel better today but between that, the awful loss just a depressed state!

yeah its all good- This was one of the worst losses ever for our program. Getting torched by Northern Iowa or JMU in the playoffs is part of building- they were far superior teams. But losing a game where you are in FULL control with 2 minutes left in the half and doing it in the way we did could destroy us. Their QB did not even hurt us that much ad we sacked him 3 times and pressured him a couple times. A 105 yard INT return for a TD we had was nullified by off sides but IMO the QB never would have thrown it so I don't eve count it.. But damn am I upset by how little we did to try and adjust or show any heart. And yet still was 31-31 with 8 left. We just did not make the plays when it counted and they did. Sound familiar?? Yeah it sounds like the MU from last year. In some ways it would feel better to just outright suck and get blown out every week b/c then at some point there is an overhaul. I do not truly mean that but I am sure some will understand what I mean. It is VERY hard for me to just say "yeah we suck, what was I thinking, believing we could be a playoff team" when we are so so close. I really wish I knew what was "missing" and I do not just mean this year, yesterday or last year just in general to get us to the next level. To me it feels a bit like attitude, mental toughness and lack of adjusting ever- But yeah I have not been this disappointed with MU Football in a long time b/c 2-1 and 2-0 in the CAA with tons of confidence and 3 winnable games compared to 1-2 and 1-1 and on the road to face a Lafayette team who is much better than our spoiled players will think is night and day. This may sound draconian, but yesterdays loss could be program changing. If this thing snowballs and falls apart, we could lose Shirden to the portal, we lose a ton of starters and it is true rebuilding which is NOT good in The CAA. The hope was to establish ourselves quickly so reloading is easy.
