I'd put Villanova at 21 right in front of Harvard. DSU is a bit high at 10, I think the 13-15 range is more like it. Otherwise its a decent final poll.

Fordham wrapped up the AQ two weeks ago and had a bye week. Bad loss but not much to get up for so to speak. They knew a win this week wouldnt have got them a home game. Anyway Fordham is 5-0 on the road and played their best when they had too. They Beat Holy Cross-Colgate- Lehigh - Lafayette - URI (which beat UMass) - Columbia - Marist and Georgetown. Top 25 or not Umass is going to have their hands full. Promise.

Jeez... what..?

Should be:
Harvard 25
Yale (26 - 40) you choose

How Harvard is below Yale is a mystery
Besides completely obliterating Yale in The Yale Bowl...
Harvard was two plays away from an undefeated season and went all year without allowing 100 yrds on the ground..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !

I'm not delirious and think Harvard is better than APP St or Richmond but I know they're better than Yale

Losing by 5 points on the road to your rival is worth dropping 6 spots? That's a pretty big drop IMO. I think that AGS was more correct with dropping us to 5 or 6 instead of all the way to 8. The final poll though, I am sure we will be back in the top 5.

Oy,

If you'd listen to CSN waves, the chairman of the committee blatantly stated that those without 7 DI wins were stricken from the board because none of those teams had overwhelming resumes to get in. PERIOD.

after looking at this poll I am a little miffed. Going into the selection show I did not think my Eagles deserved to be in the playoffs. However, after reviewing New Hampshire's schedule, we have a valid case to be in over them.
For instance,
GSU ended the year 3-1 against teams that finished the year ranked. Not bad at all. Our other losses were to an FBS team, a team that was terrible in the FCS in overtime and #37 Furman who ended the year strong.
New Hampshire was awful against teams that finished ranked losing 3 out of 4. Ranked teams beat them by 17,7 and 20 points. 2 not even being close. The only ranked team that beat GSU won in OT by 3.
GSU lost to unranked FCS teams by 7 in OT and by 2. New Hampshire lost to an unranked team by 18.
GSU did lose to an FBS opponent by 8 while New Hampshire beat one by 13 pts. Kudos to them.
Neither team finished strong with GSU losing their final 2 while NH lost 2 of their last 3.
GSU finished 107 in the final sagarin ratings while NH was 110. What's funny too is that our schedule (including have a DII) was ranked 18 spots harder that NH schedule.
I think a STRONG argument could have been made for my Eagles getting in over NH. Now, if we could just get a SOCON representative on the committee we may have a chance in the future.

If you think UNH's resume is better than GSU's.....well....I'm beating a dead horse.

In the eyes of the NCAA:
6 FCS wins + 1 FBS win > 6 FCS wins + 1 D-II win.

so what about Norfolk State then? They had a better record than both GSU and NH. Oh, was their schedule not strong enough? Well, GSU had a tougher schedule than NH so the committee can't use schedule strength as a reason can they?

Yeah a win against all those ranked teams is not overwhelming....xeyebrowx The chairman from UMASS right?.. and a win against Iona and Dartmouth a.500 conference record and ONE quality win does get you in.....oh brother! That is arbitrary at best I wonder what next years criteria will be to get in the most CAA teams? xnonono2x

Oh and IONA and Dartmouth are DIV I in name ONLY!! Anyone with half a brain cell knows that!

No,
The SoCon has no respect. The Citadel, Elon, GSU, Wofford and App should be ranked. All won against multiple top 25 teams. All with winning conference record in the top conference.

But, we have to make way for the 8 CAA members, don't you know.

Yea it was pretty messed up how 2 teams from the top conference get in while have to sit. GSU definately should be in over UNH...but as said earlier, it's just beating a dead horse now.

GSU fans. It basically came down to the fact that the Eagles did not have 7 division 1 wins. They had a great season, and I would say have a deserving resume, as did The Citadel and Elon, but they were in the same boat. If any of these 3 had the 7th D-1 Win, they would have been in over UNH

What's weird to me is I kinda thought GSU could win it all this year...
I'm no SoCon sympathizer that's for sure...

But when you look at the final 16 don't you kinda need to be able to say, after examining each one:
"Yeah... they could win out and take home the trophy"

There are a few teams up there where... I read there name and think about it and say:
"Nope... No chance"

but with GSU... they could have won it all this year (and that's coming from me..!!!) xoopsx

NDSU should not have gotten a 1st place vote but I also don't think NDSU should have fallen that far, SDSU is a good team and tough to beat at home. I also don't understand how anyone in their right mind could rank Fordham over the likes of Villanova and The Citadel.

Beat Colorado State and there's no need to sit at home and whine. I don't care if they are FBS-they have 2 wins. By the way you forgot to mention in your whine, that UNH beat the FBS team (Marshall) they played.
You can't expect to make the playoffs when you lose to Chattanooga (2-9) and one of your wins is at home against West Georgia.....West Georgia?? Are you kidding me?
