the one gripe I have always had about JM is if he gets a lead 14 or more early the prevent Offence hits the field, and the three and outs become plentiful leading to way to much time on the field for the D.xmadx we were running all over UTC then we start going pass on every third down and 4 three and outs each takeing maybe 1:00 off the clock then the D is put right back out there. our d line played their asses off in this game especially in the 2nd half. i'm very proud of our mountaineers. win over UM and a 9-2 record and socon co champs... awesome, especially when you consider the amount of injuries we've had on our o and d lines not to mention probably the youngest defensive line in the SOCON. its funny because everybody rags on our defense but statistically we're the best defensively in our conference. i agree with most of you about our D line. they need to continue to step it up a little and tighten up. i just hope we get matched with a team that doesnt like to run a lot or has a very mobile quarterback. but at least our defense is playing better. our offense was out of sinc today yet still scored 30pts. we'll be fine in the playoffs.

I have a class with Gary Tharrington and the biggest thing I've learned about our defense is not the lack of ability but the lack of leadership. He's a Junior and probably the biggest leader aside from Corey Lynch but he's been beaten up more than anyone this season. If someone can step up and lead our defense (especially in the front 7) then we should look pretty good in the playoffs. Also, I would still LOVE to see a double QB attack offense so we can use some of Trey's pin-point accuracy to keep the other team guessing. I mean why can't we just have Trey and AE back there and no one knows until one of them gets the snap?!?! xthumbsupx

Could you imagine if they had Elder as the QB and Edwards and Richardson in the backfield? That would be sick!!!! Any offensive coaches hearing me out there? Tharrington gets my "Atta'boy" award for toughness...He gets banged up almost every game and keeps on going. I'm still hoping that Washington heals up and becomes a solid defensive threat at D-end as we all hoped he would. I call it like I see it.

well....ignorance at its best.... Armante is above and beyond Trey's abilties as a quarterback. this is just amazing i have never seen so many rediculous not to mention stupid coments about Armante and Trey. You guys talk about Armante as if he's not an accuarate passer and he "needs to give the ball more to Richardson" hellooo... some of those plays where Armante runs, are designed for him to run especially on draws and options. my god.. Trey is a heck of a quarterback but he is not the athlete that we need under center to win another national championship especially considering we run a true spread with a 5 wide reciever set. Our offense is designed for a very mobile athletic quarterback. do you guys actually think we would have beat Michigan if Trey was our starter?

You guys mention Armante "limping". ok its FOOTBALL. people get nagging injuries and limp from time to time. BTW, Richardson is getting plenty of carries. NCMAN your are point on. Armanti is our man. Trey is a great backup and if he has to play in the playoffs I am sure he will play well, but how many plays have you seen #14 make when everything around him breaks down (to many too count)!!!!

Not to pile on but, I am glad that you aren't coaching. Seems to me that they doing just fine the way things are. And until somebody says otherwise, we are still the defending Champs.

Though yesterday, Armanti struggled. His passing touch seemed to desert him and at times he seemed tentative. I'm not advocating Trey over Armanti, but I think somewhere in the 2nd or 3rd quarter yesterday, it might have been a good change of pace to see what Trey could do passing wise. I don't mean replace him for the game, but a series or two just to see if that could have jump started the offense.
