30,006 announced at Harvard for The Game.

Only 6,028 showed up at Princeton for the Penn upset. What a fan base.

I believe 22,077 lucky souls, including yours truly, witnessed the Bobcats set new school records in the Brawl for rushing yards and points scored at 439 yards and 55 points (may have to edit when the box score is posted; the drinking started EARLY Saturday xdrunkyx). This also set a new attendance record for Bobcat Stadium.

Maybe the colonnade. Maybe empty immigrant tour buses from Texas.

Amazing since the schools are only about an hour apart. SMH.

"Meanwhile", 11,870 tickets were sold for the 158th renewal of The Rivalry. Lafayette's Fisher Stadium seats about 13,340, however there were a lot of empty seats. I estimate about 9-10,000 peak attendance by halftime. The tailgating tends to hold down 'in person' attendance until the second quarter, and even then, I saw a fair number of people in the parking deck overlooking the south stands the entire game. Can't say I blame them. Able to tailgate entire game with 'adult beverages' and still watch the game.

I talked to several school officials at Lehigh and they said that with the pandemic having prevented in person attendance until last year, a good portion of the student body had missed on the usual indoctrination to the traditions surrounding The Rivalry. Hopefully, they will become 'properly indoctrinated' in the next year. It wouldn't hurt to put a competitive team on the field and a head coach that can connect with the students and not appear to be from the Stone Age.

18,806 at the NDSU UND game. No freaking way there was that many butts in the seats although the lines for beer may have contained 15% of the headcount for the entire game.

Maybe the stadium’s capacity was never lowered despite what their website says.

Looks like they put aluminum bleachers in the colonnade but they appeared to be mostly empty. I thought I heard they were reserved for the press but I might have misunderstood.

I'm pretty sure that's the largest average for Samford since I've been keeping track...

I realize facts hurt. But go ahead and include unused tickets sitting on someones desk as attendance.

We were off about a hundred from last year. Maybe a new coach can bring in more. I've tracked ours over the years. It's steadily declined over the years, but our W/Ls haven't make a lot of difference year to year with everything else being equal. The stadium worked had the most impact obviously. Going to games for many is a matter of habit. Break that habit for whatever reason (stadium renovations, virus, etc) and it's an excuse not to start up again. An aggressive PR campaign by the school could fix this with some deals. I will also say that GA SO and App traveled really well. They usually brought a minimum of 1000. Who doesn't want to come to Charleston? Once they left it impacted as well.

Agree with you on your estimate. There was a lot of empty seats near me until 2nd quarter but even then notable vacant areas. Wondering how the Morning Call had a 12K+ attendance in box score if only 11,870 sold?! When did LC dispense with the temp stands in four end zone corners I was thinking during game? Lehigh never had that but did have the grassy knoll overflow area (which I got SRO tickets for in the 2009 game. Thankfully near 70 that year!)
