Week 8 SOUTHLAND Conference Pick ‘em
No awards or prizes. Keep track of your own record during the season. When all is said and done, we will recognize the winner or winners. I hope to have a poll, but if not, just copy and paste and bold your selections.

All eight SLC teams are in action in week #8, but only two are conference matchups. A correction on last week’s games. The UIW/Nicholls game did not count as a conference game.
Northwestern State and Commerce are at the tops of the conference standings as they are the only teams with unblemished conference slates.
Here are the matchups for this week.
Southeast Missouri at Northwestern State 10/22/2022 1:00 PM
Southeastern at Jacksonville State 10/22/2022 1:00 PM
HCU at Texas A&M University - Commerce 10/22/2022 2:00 PM
Faulkner at UIW 10/22/2022 2:00 PM
McNeese at Nicholls 10/22/2022 3:00 PM
Prairie View A&M at Lamar 10/22/2022 4:00 PM

Don't forget to vote in this week's poll. Your guess is as good as anyone else's!

Do you have to get special access to vote in the poll or something? Not that I know much about anyone else, so I doubt my votes do well.

If any HCU people are headed to Commerce I hope you can come to the tailgate. TAMUC will show out well, and my family and friends are hosting a big one for Homecoming.

I don't recall ever seeing any HCU fans here at AGS. I don't even know if they have a message board or not.

As far as voting, here is information. Basically, you have to have been a member here for one year and have 100 posts. So get to posting. Read other threads to become familiar with other schools and conferences, especially the poll threads. https://www.anygivensaturday.com/showthread.php?310322-AGS-Poll-Voter-Requirements

I definitely meant this poll on this stream, and never saw the rules before it was linked here. Thanks for the help!

Good luck to HCU, but better luck to TAMUC.

I hope the Lion fans enjoyed their trip to Lake Charles/McNeese. I imagine a big victory made it all that much nicer. Hopefully, in a couple of years when y'all visit the Cowboys can make the game more entertaining.

To vote in the weekly SLC polls, just scroll up to the top of this thread and check the boxes. I thought you had already voted in these polls previously. ?

About 24 hours left if you haven't voted in this week's poll.

One game looks to be a tossup according to the voters so far, while the rest seem to be pretty certain. But Any Given Saturday!

TAMUC struggled to get much offense goin the first half, including a scary looking injury to Armstrong. 7-3 Lions at the half.

But Armstrong returned for the start of the 2nd half, and the Lions ultimately won 31-3. Now our boys get a chance to welcome a top 10 opponent to town, and a win puts them in the driver’s seat for an undefeated conference crown. I assume almost everyone will pick UIW in the upcoming pick ‘em, and that is to be expected. But with the way TAMUC is playing defense and the talent of our young guys on offense, most in Commerce believe this ends a Lion win.

Here is a thread you should read and perhaps make a case for Commerce being included in the Top 25. They are eligible for the AGS poll since they could possibly win the SLC title, even though they are NCAA playoffs ineligible. Your Lions went to Hammond and beat SLU who just tromped Jacksonville State on their field. At least a good game or a victory next week should put the Commerce Lions on the map:
