"After initiating & expressing interest in the CAA, source said, HU recently came back to the table to say no to a standing offer that would have seen it come aboard in '23-'24"

Good to hear if it is true. We don't need 14 teams in the CAA unless they were to break into two "leagues" and gain an auto-bid for both.

Hopefully the CAA will now bring in Fairfield as the 14th and final all sports add. Better fit overall.

That’s going to kick Towson to the South. That’s something they don’t want IIRC.

Put Delaware in south, Towson can go north.

Or better, just keep 14 in one group, like the A10. Doesn’t make a big difference anyway. Each school then picks the 5 teams they want home/home - the other 8 would be single games (4 home/4 away).

Towson controls the CAA? Are they going to leave for another league if they don't get their way?

Divisions are going the way of the dinosaur across the college sports landscape. In a 14-team basketball conference, easiest thing to do is assign primary partners for home and homes (5 per school as laid out by SB) to preserve and develop rivalries.
