View Full Version : Multiple Wins vs FBS in Single Season?

I know I'm getting way ahead of myself with this, but I'm a fan...I'm allowed.

Looking at how NDSU is playing and how Minnesota is playing, I think we've got a pretty good shot at knocking off the Gophers Oct. 20. xprayx

Since I'm a youngster and don't know a ton about the history of FCS, maybe some of the wiser folks on the board can help me out. xbowx

How many FCS teams have had multiple wins vs FBS opponents in a single season?

Delaware beat Navy and Temple in 1985.

The Citadel beat Army and Arkansas in 1992. I think we beat Navy the same year we beat South Carolina also, but I might be think about 1990 and 1989? We were 6-1 vs. FBS in about a 3-4 year period, so I think we may have had two - 2-win seasons.

Help me here, Citdog.

In 1990, we beat UNLV but lost to Tulsa.

In 1975 ASU beat Wake Forest, South Carolina, and East Carolina in the same year, and then lost to Newberry?? or Catawba or something like that which cost ASU a berth in a bowl.

In 1975 ASU beat Weak Forest, South Carolina and East Carolina, but lost to Furman, Richmond and Western Carolina (which cost us the Tangerine Bowl). But, all those schools were Division I at the time.

correct about 1992, beat navy in 88 in Charleston, and in 89 the night hugo hit Charleston at USNA.

Delaware beat Navy and Temple in 1985.
Also Temple and Villanova in 1980... our first year in I-AA and nova's last in I-A. xthumbsupx
