As you may have heard on TV or read in the paper, UCA is offering free
tuition and fees to all Arkansas residents who were enrolled for the
fall semester at Tulane, Xavier, University of New Orleans or Southern
University. For out-of-state residents, UCA will waive the out-of-state
tuition charge. We are admitting these students as quickly as
possible. They can contact Admissions at 501-450-3128 or they can apply in person
in the Admissions Office in Bernard Hall.

All students who are victims of Hurricane Katrina will be advised
through the Academic Advising Center. Please do not send them to individual
departments or direct them to the internet. Please send them directly
to Harrin Hall after they have been admitted. They do not need an
appointment.

We appreciate all of your help in assisting in this worthy cause.

Lu Hardin

From a friend that goes to Marquette, they are admitting students from Loyola University in New Orleans (a fellow Jesuit college).

Something similar is being done by Richmond for Virginia students attending one of those schools. I hope that more states follow so that these students have a place to go. Just a terrible trajedy for everyone.
