We ended up with 61 total participants for round one! Ten people went 7 out of 8, but there was a lot of score separation in the scoring margin game. Having a couple games end with 7, 10, & 24 victory margins really helped that happen. There are plenty of points still left, so even if you finished dead last, it's not out of the question to come back. Remember there are only three weeks to submit picks, so please keep participating each week if you have done so previously. This makes scoring all the easier.

2) In the Round 2 table, column Z is pre-set to 17.5 baseline and column AF to 15 while all others are at 10.
3) In the Quarters Table, column Z is set to 25 whereas the other QF columns are at 20. It is clear that the later columns are higher because they are for semis and the final.

Went in and looked at the sheet. Couple questions/comments because I looked at your formulae after noticing an anomaly:

Here is the explanation of the scoring (I believe I bump up future base points to 20 in the quarters, 30 in the semis, and 40 in the final):


Scoring:
10 points for every correct pick.
Bonus structure:
If less than 1/2 correctly picked game, 2.5 extra points.
If less than 1/3, 5 extra
Less than 1/5, 7.5 extra
Less than 1/10, 10 extra

Deduction structure.
Your score will be deducted by 0.1 for each 1 point your score is off from the predicted margin of victory. That's only if you predict the correct winner. Any incorrect prediction will be worth 0 points.

I apologize if this doesn't make sense. I waited until the very last minute to think this up, haha.



You will be rewarded for picking upsets. (Or at least having correctly picked a game less than 50% picked.) Of course, sometimes there are no upsets. (See the 2nd round in 2018.)

For future rounds, as you mentioned. Those baseline scores only appear that way because I just copied the spreadsheet from 2019, rather than making a new one. So I will update those formulae once the games happen. I believe only 2 or 3 people correctly picked UT Martin, so that's why that game was worth 20. Then less than half picked SIU, so that was given a base of 12.5.
