SDSU has to be one of the most, if not the most statistically dominant unseeded teams since the field expanded to 24 teams and 8 seeds. Both Sagarin and Massey have SDSU as the #2 team in the FCS... this is a tough draw for UC Davis.

If the o-line is a weak spot for UC Davis this is really not a good matchup for them. SDSU's d-line is among the best in the FCS. They can wreck games for opposing offenses.

We decided to throw it again, only it was with Pierre Strong to Oladokun. Stig loves that RB pass and I can see why, it always works.

Congrats to the Jacks today. Just too big and physical for us. We came into the game with a battered OL, our top 2 WR's out with injuries and highly inconsistent play from our QB's. It wouldn't have changed the outcome but it might have made the score more respectable. We open with Cal next year and then head back to Brookings for another game with the Jacks. Hopefully, we'll be able to make the rematch more interesting.

We've got a ways to go to be able to compete with the very top teams in the FCS but we're making progress. Our high academic standards for all of our athletes makes recruiting challenging but it's also what makes Aggie Athletics special since all of these athletes have to get it done in the classroom just like the other UC Davis students. They're truly student-athletes. The vast majority of these kids will go on to be good citizens and will have a very good chance of having a meaningful and productive career after graduation.

A first round game in Davis on Thanksgiving weekend may have been lower than our season average but most definitely not 74% lower...maybe 20% at the most...

I really don't know. I do know that the Aggie fans were certainly hoping for a home game and I do think that the school would have tried their best to get one.

Brookings is located in a smaller town about an hour away from the only close metropolitan area of Sioux Falls, which is probably about 200K. Their football teams deserve better attendance but they have a disadvantage in terms of number of fans living conveniently near by (I think an hour on the interstate is convenient but not everyone does). Also they never really invested at all in their football team until they moved to D1, and it's been a long slow process for them to build a dedicated fan base. I'm guessing their lackluster finish to the season probably dampened enthusiasm as well.
