well… that hurts my feelings:)

maybe we should look at some google analytics. I would love to know how the other blogs are doing. Mine's still a newbie.
http://purpleaxe.typepad.com/

79 visits a day average, highest day 275 visitors.
8500 page views since I went live back in April.
I don't receive a lot of comments, I get emails. Purple people are chickens.

A big thanks to frank/UMass blog for giving me a lot of support.

The UMass football blog (http://umass74.blogspot.com/) averages 235 visitors a day. I've had 58,000 visitors and 125,000 page views since June of '05.

FuEMO's "Paladin Walk" is excellent and I have a permanent link to it on my blog. The "Grizzoulian" is also very good. I check out both a couple times a week.

I am still amazed that there are so few FCS Blogs. It's free and easy, but there are probably fewer than 5 active blogs in the FCS universe.

With many people having 5,000+ posts here, you would think the internet would be crawling with football blogs. Most people start one and abandon it in a month or so.

They figure the "worth" of a blog by its add potential. Link to a high-traffic site such as Slashdot and watch the "worth" climb.

I've had several offers to put advertising on my site, but I highly doubt I'd ever accept. No pop-ups on the UMass Blog ever!

Frank, you do an outstanding job and UMass football fans are lucky to have your blog around...

I use it regularly to keep up to date on things back in the Pioneer Valley...

For other FCS fans looking for an example, Umass74's site is it...check it out if just for an example...xthumbsupx xthumbsupx

I'm still waiting for the "Umass74 Blog, Kick A$$ Umass" t-shirts to come out. Seriously, do you think at some point you'll sell hats and tees like Lehigh Nation (http://www.cafepress.com/lfnstore.80813069)? I would buy some tees. xnodx

Nothing planned right now. If I did, the proceeds would go the UMass football. I've got a collection of UMass games on tape. If I could find some spare time to transfer them to DVD, I think UMass people would buy DVD copies. If I just had more time...

The Lanier Drive Institute of Higher Thinking (http://instituteofhigherthinking.blogspot.com) (the home site for the "Cult of I-AA" is worth a whopping $7,903.56. Not too bad. I'll be adding all of the good FCS blogs suggested in this thread to my sidebar this evening. Keep up the good work, folks.

If there are any other new blogs or blogs I might have missed, email me by clicking on my profile at The IHT.

PS: New "Cult of I-AA" column on Thursday night/Friday. Keep an eye out.

A blog does require a commitment in time. I travel a fair amount and that makes it challenging. I find it interesting to see where my readers are coming from. I do get a fair amount of traffic from other SoCon schools. APP’s alumni blog has given me a trackback and I got some nice traffic. I’ve been getting consistent traffic from Japan and I didn’t know why, then I received an email from a player parent and found out he travel to Japan a lot. That’s what really keeps me going on and to keep mine as positive as possible about Furman and the rest of the FCS teams.

Frank I’m glad you brought that up about ad revenue. I’ve already had offer too. But I declined, I’m trying to keep the blog a fan’s perspective. Being in branding, blogs are driving conversations in business and are real attractive in connecting brands to sports fans.

I’m hoping an APP fan will join me, in being the next blogger in the SoCon. Then we can start to get some fun things going.

Ours is just getting off of the ground. I just added the first video from our first game earlier and the 2nd is loading to YouTube as we speak. We added over 100 pictures from the game on Sunday night. Two of the guys have written their blog for the week. Videos are going up tonight, and the other two blogs should be up at the latest in the morning. We've just gotta get the word out.
